This season felt very long and boring even tho it was a half length, I've never felt less invested in any of the characters. They should have just made All Stars a full length season and ended it there or continued with the originals.

They definitely should have. However, this was all Cartoon Network's decision. They ordered a 26 episode season, where the 1st half (All-Stars) would have 1st & 2nd generation contestants, while the second half (Pahkitew Island) would have an entirely new cast, which was why Chris initially stated that at the end of All-Stars. Although Pahkitew Island is introduced as a "6th season," it is is actually considered the second half of the fifth season.

I hope at some point in the future they would be able to make a new season of the Ridonculous Race or at least create another spin off series based on Total Drama. One that will focus on the old contestants of Total Drama who never got so much attention or a character development, like say Tyler. Or perhaps Eva, Katie and Sadie. I mean, because they fired Megan Fahlenbock and Brian Froud, so I don't think they'll have anything in store for the original Gwen and Harold in the future.
