If someone is commenting on the quality of an apple, it is not mandatory that every time speaker should have eaten the apple before making that comment.For example if you have a bunch of apples in front of u and even at the very first sight itself if you feel like the quality is not good, you could say 'quality isn't good. Well, I believe that using 'was or is' really depends on what situation you are saying it

English is just a language like Malayalam. Be it any language speak well and beautifully that’s the point. When it comes to English people tend to forget the reason behind the advent of language. My relative kids who studied in English medium school have always got the stardom in our family but my siblings and I was studying state syllabus so no one did see us equally in our family. As kids, that experience was hurting. So now when people show off their ability to speak in English, I tend to change their attitude and tell them, English is not something to show off neither it’s a status symbol. But yeah it’s good to know how to handle a language be it English or Malayalam or any language. language is always beautiful when it’s spoken the way it should be spoken and when there’s a fluency it’s easy for others to listen but when it’s broken and mixed with other languages the beauty of the language is missing. So it’s always good to speak one language at a time, either English or Malayalam that retain the beauty and make it easy for those who listen:)
