Remember the type of clouds also matter. The ones that are high, hazy, and thin shouldn't ruin the view too much, but the persistent thick low stratus clouds will completely ruin the show. Depending on their size, generally the puffy cumulus clouds will give the viewers an intermittent eclipse show.

It'll only be a partial eclipse in New Jersey anyways, there will be more of those but none where the path of totality is so close to you until 2079

@@dgwaters at 90-95% coverage it's still basically like a sunny day outside, even though it's better than the 2017 one you won't notice MUCH of a difference. The big difference comes in last 5% and especially in the path of totality, which being so close to it you should really see if you can get there, no more opportunities until 2045 really

It was ! We went to Hillsboro, city park, where there was clearings in the clouds exactely at the right moment to see the coronna. That was awesome ! We met a friendly family who drove 13 hours from Utah for the eclipse, really nice people. 🇺🇸⭐️

Day to dusk ...Meh. A thunderstorm can cause that change. What is amazing is looking up at the sun when the eclipse is at full totality. That is a sight to behold.

I don't think we are. I live next door in Gates and as long as the clouds are high and thin like our local forecast predicts, it shouldn't completely ruin the view but could give the eclipse show a fuzzy and milky image. Or the forecast can be slightly wrong and give us totally blue skies. Let's hope so, knock on wood...
