"says guerilla warfare, whips out tank" i support this, brings an American tear to my eye. I heard a bald eagle screech. Jokes aside, I actually love you gave the historical name of the combat style. I do love you brought in the Fabian style of avoidance and seizing the opportunity.

Most people expect a pitched battle, but they typically don't expect this. A patient player who knows how to use his unorthodox build and denies the upfront engagement. The (supposed) confusion from the enemy player in how to deal with guerilla type builds also helps considering how uncommon they are. Which is awsome if pulled off but disastrous is not. That's the thing, if you can't take them all at once, you take them in pieces.

1 thing i want to say: While this may not fit guerilla warfare strictly, the knights if the Black Rose work excellently as an "instant front line" in case enemy cavalry is particularly threatenu g, or if the player is unconfident in their ability to manage everything. 1 or 2 units of it can act as highly mobile shields, locking down threats while allowing your more delicate gunpowder units reposition.

Nice battle, reminds me to my favourite tactic from playing total Warhammer campaign I would hide my gunners and mortars in the forest, with gunners protecting the mortars, while cavalry with pistols would ride out to enemy, and draw them right into shooting range for mortars This way even stronger enemy would be quickly beaten up and defeated by a small force of few gunners, mortars and cavalry I even managed to defeated this way a way bigger army with steam tank once

Well if your opponent does not use his army and simply sends his Hero and cav into you without support, while wasting the amo of his 2! Hellstorms on the literal worst target in the whole game, then you don't need any tactics to win the match. At this point he already wasted roughly 5k of his 12k points without any effect whatsoever and without you having to do anything. The AI would win the match at this point. I love tactic videos and skirmish/kite has been an extremly potent tactic since Warhammer 1, but this showcase will result in a lot of frustration for anyone trying to repeat this. Kite is one of the hardest to execute playstyles overall and definitly does not work like this.
@MalleusGaming575 ай бұрын
I would hope that people wouldn't try to replicate this exactly as guerilla tactics are dependent on ever evolving battlefield conditions. I see this as more presenting ideas and principles for people to think on and have in mind during their battles.
@twistedmentality15 ай бұрын
I agree, in general this serves as a bad example of multiplayer tactics. The "noob box" is so often mocked for this reason. Some pro players have shown that if your opponent makes poor ranged targeting selection, you can win without moving a single unit

Yeah it'd be interesting, I feel like it'd be more improvising on the fly, seeing what the map is like and trying to adapt to the different conditions. This army was admittedly not designed for the purpose of Guerilla style fighting, I changed my plan immediately upon seeing what I was up against
@carstein56966 ай бұрын
Could have improved the build by nixing a ironside for a life mage. If you have double steam tank I really don't see a world where healing wouldn't be fantastic. Also I uh. Don't think that pulling your outriders back to get plinked down by the long rifles without returning fire was the best choice. Coulda kept pressure up on the rear, especially with their own cavalry committed and their ability to stay away from massed handgun fire. Interesting build and battle though! The map definitely played to your advantage. The rockets were essentially useless because of their lack of vision on your ironsides.

@MalleusGaming575 ай бұрын
Partly was because I was trying to micro stuff back and forth all over and didn't properly see the handgunners, also partly I was trying to thin numbers quickly. Mainly too I wasn't thinking straight haha concentrating on the ranged would have been better, even charging into the snipers with my Outriders would have been better rather then disengaging but still being shot. @@MalleusGaming57 I am playing a super long campaign with a friend he is Karl Franz and I am Thorgrim. I plan to cross off every grudge. We also are playing with a mod that changes victory conditions and rewards to be a little bit more interesting and are doing all of them. So far I have only Reclaimed the Realms. I have all 6 LLs spread around the map sadly Grombrindal was defeated before I could recruit him so will take him awhile to get revenge on the elves. Belegar just took the Oak of Ages and is fighting the Wood Elves still. Ungrim is fighting the Vampires to the east of Karak Kadrin. Thorgrim after finally finishing off Queek at like turn 60 is fighting Grimgor and Imrik to the east. Thorek is trying to not die to Kroq Gar. And Malakai is just kind of chilling as I got him last and the AI did not level up his ship at all. I feel like I am forgetting someone but I think that is everyone. Belegar and Ungrim have weird armies but Grombrindal and Thorgrim are mainly using Irondrakes, Organ Guns, Thunderers, and Iron Breakers. Thorgrim has 2 Hammerers as well. Belegar is him and his ghosts, 10 Bugman Rangers, then 5 Gyrocopters of different types. Ungrim is all different Slayers and a couple Grudge Settler Trollhammer Gyrocopters. The Ranger army has been amazing again Wood Elves and same with the Slayer army against the Vampires. I think my standard Dwarf army would not do nearly as well against the Wood Elves. It is about turn 70 and the Greenskin and Chaos Dwarf end game scenarios are coming at 100.
