I'm on the second series and I have been thinking since the first episode once the sweeper gets high enough couldn't you just duck under and stay ducked, or would you rather get quacked.

That's a disqualification. If someone does almost fall off their podium, they can pull themselves back up, but only if they are up by the time the Sweeper comes around again. If they haven't gotten back up by the time it passes their podium, they're out. I know, it gives a huge disadvantage to short people. Sian from S1 E3 and Kelly from S2 E1 both eventually fell off the Sweeper because they were so small (Kelly's nickname was even "Tiny Kelly"). Possibly one of the reasons they switched to Crash Mountain in Season 3, then Double Cross in Season 5. Your height doesn't put you at a disadvantage for either of those.
