The examples on the box, missed brackets, wrong "you"s, and the lore inaccurate map don't directly pose issues to gameplay and overall quality. For just 2 players there are absolutely top games like Twilight Struggle or the War of the Ring or Star Wars:Rebellion. Imperial 2030 is a deceptively simple but an absolutely genius game with an excellent twist - players don't play as country leaders but as shadowy financiers who invest in all countries and goad them to war :) Can't recommend this one enough.

This is a kinda a weird video. I love board games and getting into the nitty gritty of mechanics, so the board game hacking sounds like perfect premise for me, but this felt more of a discussion about editing errors and lore mismatches (which feel pretty esoteric). Not really the most exciting or meaningful points main, especially when the conclusion just has an off hand that the game has some great mechnics but they've not been discussed. Ultimately, just sort of led me to search for a more rounded review of the game. I get the channel has more videos on risk warhammer but thats probably too much buy in, especially after a very one sided 20 minute vid.

The classic version speeds up the game by rewarding players with larger numbers of troops as the cards get cashed in. Eventually, someone will gain so many troops that they can go on a roll knocking off players and acquiring / cashing in more cards as they go. This is the "risk" of the game. If they run out steam and fail to conquer all, the next player to cash in will likely win. If the army rewards are static, then I fail to see how this could shorten the game or allow for underdogs to come back? It has been basic risk game theory for decades that increasing army rewards for cashing in cards shortens game length.

if it were done that way, then itd be bad lol. Reason why games with dice are fun is because those games give you options to alter the chances of you winning. It is tactical because your trying to get an advantage and minimize losses. Good dice games will allow you to keep your advantage even if you lose the dice roll.
