Very interesting, I didn't know there was that much detail work in the baffles of a suppressor. We aren't allowed to play with them at all up here, so I haven't got any experience with how they're made.

There are other ways of clipping them, but this style is pretty popular.

What is your impression if subsinjcs with radial cones. I heard there's no clip there's slits down the side of the cone part of baffles except the blast baffle. U can see they use about 15 baffjes abd get closer and closer till it reaches the end cap. It also has these notches on the side maybe to line up the slits? Which I did with the quarter size diamond Dremel bit. Since I can't figure out how to cut my skirts Im getting a 3 inch 3/8 SS cutting blade cut off wheel and a vice....

I may not have a degree, but I wish to inform the watchers of this that it is advisable to drill all the baffles at the same time, if feasible, to maintain concentricity. The same applies to the gas reliefs, using a mill, if available. Just a thought.
@thunderkat52822 жыл бұрын
That’s a bad idea unless you’re 100% sure your drill is the same path as the bore of the barrel. Better to drill them separately
@madscientist45782 жыл бұрын
@@thunderkat5282 That's precisely my idea. Drill the bore first, then the vent holes are done in the mill. Do the external cone surfaces, part the baffles, and do the internal cones.

@number40Fan5 жыл бұрын
I have a cheap set of drill bits from Lowe's. I think it is a 20 piece set. Make sure they are sharp. The one I used in this video wasn't that sharp. That's why there was a lot of screeching. I think I mention in the video which cone I was drilling, but I did both SS and Ti in my build. Just don't let the cone get hot.

@@number40Fan Thanks~ I have no experience for hardened metal drilling, the 1st time drilling was terrible, I do not know how I finished the cones. What is the reason for clipping the cones? Does it have to be clipped?

The clipping disrupts the flow of gases allowing them to cool and lower the sound. No, they don't have to be clipped.

these additional passages will allow more gas force to pass with the bullet and apply a side force to the bullet, instead of delaying the gasses ...... as the gasses are traveling faster than the bullet, the purpose of a suppressor is to SLOW DOWN THE GASSES.... this system defeats this accomplishment...........just increase length of the spacers IMHO
@number40Fan3 жыл бұрын
Clipping the cones is a MUST, whether you choose this style or any other type of clipping.
@noretreat151 Жыл бұрын
main factor of baffles in a suppressor is to slow gassed (trapping gas as bullet seals at exit hole) enlarging hole or adding additional holes will increase speed of gasses >>defeating purpose

Nope. You're wrong. Why do manufacturers sell theirs with some kind of clipping? Because it helps with dB reduction.
