excellent, the comment "i havent done anything its working" was in part due to the battery sensing turning on of camera for filming :) :)

Some/all Sofar Inverters have "Advanced Settings / 7. Battery Active". "Inverter can activate flat batteries when needed".

Nice job, thank you for sharing. Its people like you who give the rest of us the confidence and knowledge to try this out ourselves, just in case we get a fault. I'll google the pylontech battery view software and see if I can get hold of a copy. Like yourself, I have a few pylontechs. How would you go about monitoring each battery with a arduino/pi? I guess you'd need the pylontech interrogation software protocols first?

This pack didn't have a bulge. All the cells were fine and it is still working perfectly.

I can't find that Battery View software anywhere on their site. Anuone have any clues as to how to find it?

@nicholashowell I found it in the end. That USB to rj45 looked useful. so I tried it. For a start, windoze 11 doesn't seem to want to recognize com3, even though I installed it as per MS instructions. Wouldn't it need a serial converter? it gives me no choice between rs 232 and rs 485, which, I believe is the protocol it needs. Any ideas?

@@nicholashowell The US3000c uses an RJ45 for the "Console" port. How does that effect the USB interface cable? the protocol is still rs232. Wouldnt it need a Serial / USB converter? The pinouts look very similar to the old serial crossover cable, as does your construction. Cheers.

Mine is us3000c but the circuit board has burnt capacitors

Not sure there is a lot you can do about that yourself. If it's still under warranty then you can probably get it fixed that way.
