I am absolutely astounded! I prayed last night about this very issue of forgiveness and the torment I’ve been under and He led me to this teaching. I to have a past with my children that I couldn’t forgive myself for and this set me free. I know I can really have the hope that is in God to live as He designed. I wish I could shake your hand Pastor. I so enjoy your messages!

This is making sense to me about the blood of Jesus. Been a self righteous Christian (trying to help pay for sins) for over 20 years and this is setting me free finally. I recently committed a sin and my usual way of dealing with it is to beat up myself with sleepless nights etc. God used this recent sin to bring me to a crossroads of beating myself up or to finally take this seemingly too good to be true news and believing it. Priceless I grew up in a non Christian home, went into the marines for 5 years and pretty much lived off of trying to earn love through codependency or living off of my feelings with my relationship with God. After I sin I have always tried to help pay for my sins with this pseudo guilt. If only I would be hard on myself long enough, hating myself enough then I would feel satisfied that I was forgiven. But it was trusting in myself and discrediting the whole purpose of why Jesus came to die. I think I’m starting to see the light. It seems too good to be true, but that’s what the gospel is. And probably why I have had a hard time receiving it. But I’m taking that step of faith now to receive Jesus’ complete forgiveness by what he did on the cross for me. Thank you RT

I also have this problem having walked away from the church for over 20+ years and then coming back to Jesus, Paul says he was forgiven for his sins against the Lord because he did it in ignorance. I knew I was sinning every time and still sinned so I am having trouble. If anyone reads this please pray for me.

Richard , what is important is to have faithful friends who are member of church & to meet often, as for attending a weekly service , it may be helpful , but it's not essential, Keep close to Jesus , read your bible everyday , let the word speak to you & meet other church members. I prayed for you today.

Ouch, self examination especially for those of us who are more cerebral is difficult but not impossible. Your sermon has evoked a strong desire to re-evaluate or perhaps continue this evolution of forgiving myself through a much deeper study of what forgiveness is and how to apply it fully. Thank you Pastor RT.

Dear R T, could help those that have the problem i do, it seems like you and many others like Pastors Conlon, and Pastor Dilena and yourself never turned your back on the Lord like myself and others have and we are having a hard time finding our way home.
