The biggest free agent bust was steven jackson with the Atlanta Falcons. Steven jackson was the best runningback for the st. Louis Rams but was traded to the Atlanta Falcons in 2013 and played for two years in atlanta from 2013-2014. After the 2014 season steven jackson was cut by the falcons in 2015 and then signed with the New England Patriots but had limited success with the patriots. Steven Jackson then retired in 2016 after spending the second half of the 2015 season with the New England Patriots.

Garcia is a bizarre one because he went to other teams after leaving the Browns and was solid if not spectacular. He just couldn't make it happen in Cleveland. (Something similar happened to Andre Rison, who I'm a little surprised isn't on here given how much he was hyped up and how much Cleveland shelled out to get him.)

As an Eagles' fan, I will go to my grave saying that it was not DeMarco Murray's fault he flopped in Philly and that it was all Chip Kelly. Chip trades McCoy because McCoy isn't great at running inside zone and claims he wants a rb with more strength and can pound the ball; signs Murray only to play him like he's McCoy, making him run off tackle and out of the shotgun, like wth? Murray's best plays on the Eagles was when they lined up under center and used inside zones, just watch the Giants game after Chip was fired.

Most NFL free agents don't play up to their free agent contracts. That is because when a team signs a free agent, they are getting other team's players who may or may not fit the system they are trying to run. Either that or the players themselves are physically washed up by the time the make it to free agency. Why do you think consistent contending teams like New England and Pittsburgh seldom sign free agents unless it is to fill a hole? It is because they would rather use the money and try to keep the players they already do have. They know that signing big name free agents from other teams a lot of times is like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. This is why teams like Miami and Washington who seem to "win" the free agency market underachieve when the real season starts and their players end up on this list.

To be fair with Nnamdi, he was a shutdown corner. Man on man was his specialty and did it best BY FAR. Revis was 2nd best to Nnamdi at the time. The Eagles tried to turn him into a zone corner as a part of their dream team, but they fucked up. Nnamdi ended up signing a deal with the Raiders and retired as one with no games played. He retired at home, where he belongs. Nnamdi was the only star in the big dark sky.

I don't really understand the Josh McCown pick. Sure he's not that good. But I would hardly call him a bust. That would imply there were high expectations. worst free agent signings/free agent contracts is more like it when it comes to this list,...I wouldn't exactly call all of these guys free agent busts,..only 3 or 4 guys on this list fit the criteria of a free agent "BUST",..like DeMarco Murray,Albert Haynesworth,and a couple others on here,because these guys were actually great players or ascending stars in the NFL at the time of them being signed,and were also in their prime,and under 30 years old,..i wouldn't exactly call all these FA busts,because,...c'mon who expected Deion to save the Redskins Franchise(they also signed H.O.F.er Bruce Smith that year) in his mid 30s,same thing with Ahman Green,..both those guys were signed to short term(albeit Big$$)contracts,because,the team thought they were a player or two away from having the team to make a championship push,the team was just hoping to squeeze a year or two out of those guys in the final stages of their careers,before they rode of into the sunset,..i would qualify a FA bust as someone like d,murray or haynesworth,..because those guys were both in their mid to late twenties,with tons of upside,and plenty of years left on their careers,..as well as they were coming off All Pro seasons,and were considered to be elite players at their positions,..as far as guys like chuck smith,larry brown and nate odoms,...they were never great to begin with,..odom and smith were solid,and brown had one big game in the superbowl,(where another guy on this list neil O'Donnell thought he was on his team)with 2 ints.,..but you cant really call them busts,as they weren't expected to become superstars anywhere they went....but as far as these guys getting huge contracts for pretty much doing nothing afterwards,..yes,..id say all these guys fit that criteria,..but busts...not really,...you got to have star potential to be a bust
