This program, and What’s My Line have brought me so much joy over the past couple of years since I discovered them on KZbin. I remember them, but was too young to appreciate them.

It amazing to me that the panel seemed to have never heard of the tradition of saving the top of your wedding cake to eat on your first anniversary.

I thought they were surprised because she had it shipped all the way to Vietnam, not because she saved it.

I hadn't heard of the Five Stairsteps. Based on that one performance, I'll look for more by them.

They were successful on the R & B charts, but it wasn't until 1970 when they got their one big pop crossover hit, "O-o-h, Child"

I'll allow the possibility it was just the song, but I wasn't impressed. Hooray for those who enjoyed them back in the day, but I was not made a fan. The Jackson Five they were not.

I am lefthanded. My 5th-grade teacher spent the entire school year getting me to write as right-handers do, under the line I am writing. Most lefties write over the top of the line they are writing. Thus my penmanship was always very legible and modestly aside, very good. The Five Stairsteps were a fantastic group and yes I was alive was they were popular. O O H Child was very popular. You will know it when you hear it.

Tom always asks police what a come-along is, my friends and I used them, they are hand held wench that can be used for many tasks, we had them in our trucks to pull ourselves out the mud if we got stuck while hunting, but of course you could spend a lot of money and get one put on your front bumper like a tow truck, Tom asked so many times I felt like commenting!!!!

y is it the later episodes for example this, in comparison to the earlier episodes from the 50s and 60s, are in such poor picture?
@zmbently4906
@zmbently4906 3 жыл бұрын
I think it’s because earlier episodes were strictly filmed in black and white, and black and white typically produces a higher quality film. The later episodes were filmed in color, so I do not really know why they are in black and white on KZbin. Probably a different copy of the episode due to the loss of the color film

Whether in B&W or later in Color, almost all TV shows from the late 1940's thru the early 1970's were captured as kinescopes, which are films from a movie camera focused on a television monitor image. The image quality on TV monitors gradually improved over those years, resulting in better images. Later in the 1970's, videotape became the preferred technology for preserving television shows.

This final season was broadcast in color, so the lighting for color programs was different. What you are watching here is a black and white kinescope of a color episode.

These episodes from 1967 ARE color episodes, as they were broadcast in color, but are preserved as black and white kinescopes.

@@joeambrose3260 In my case, I'm left-handed when it comes to anything requiring precision, such as writing or even using a spoon or fork--but I'm right-handed whenever physical strength or anything athletic is necessary, such as using a hammer, as well as catching or throwing a ball.

9:45 "The New York Daily Times..The New York Daily". 12:10 "What's the top speed of a helicopter" "500 miles per hour". Actually the top speed of an average one is 160mph and the world's fastest as of 2013 is 267mph. Hard to believe she's a stewardess for Pan Am and so clueless as to airspeed. But #3 was so convincing I was sure it was her in spite of her flub. And how can they eat a 1 year old cake? 16:55 "What is a G chord" "It's not a chord, it's a note".

It was the stewardess job to hand out drinks and pillows. Why would she need to know anything about airspeed? That's the pilot's job.

I was born in 70 and they tried to make me a right as well- I was glad to use both hands tho…so I’m ambidextrous. I write the same if up on a chalkboard…but on paper, my writing isn’t as neat as my left. But I also don’t turn my hand almost upside down as most all of other lefties. What’s crazy is, if trying to find my ‘dominant’ side via sight test…it alternates. So Idt I maybe would have used both of my hands had I not been forced to that first year. I kick with both legs too…so idk what’s up with that.
