Of course Bob from Sesame Street can sing Danny Boy in Japanese. It would probably be faster to make a list of what he can't do. That man is amazing. ❤

Bob McGrath is a much beloved figure here in Saskatchewan. He was one of the original performers on the Kinsmen Telemiracle telethon, and appeared on the telethon for 38 years between 1977 and 2015 (I believe he may have missed one Telethon due to bad weather). He has received the Commemorative Medal for the Centennial of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Distinguished Service Award.

Of course Joan Fontaine knew a thing or two about Tokyo as she as well as her sister Olivia de Havilland was born there. Bob McGrath was even more popular in Japan than stateside at one point, largely among children due to his regular appearance in Sesame Street. R.I.P. Bob

I remember watching 'Sing Along with Mitch' when I was growing up, and I seem to remember Bob McGrath being a regular soloist. Of course, 'Sesame Street' made his name well known to millions of youngsters. So glad to see this early appearance of his.

I used to love reading "Miss Peach" when I was a kid. Hysterically funny comic strip. And man... Mel Lazarus was HANDSOME! And I was as stunned as Joan Fontaine that this chemist had no idea that H2O2 was hydrogen peroxide. Then again, her claim to fame was an injectable that protected people against radiation. And we all know that didn't pan out at all.

That is the same Bob McGrath who a couple years later became part of the original cast of "Sesame Street" and stayed with it for well over 45 years. He also appeared on "I've Got A Secret" several months later with the secret "My songs are only successful in Japan."

Yep, talk about a steady gig! And I had the honor to meet Bob back in the '80s. I was a part time usher at a theater at the community college that I was attending. Bob was doing a children's concert (of course!). I still remember it; it was really wonderful. He couldn't be more humble or nicer. Bob is a true gentleman! And that comes out in this program here.

Notice the mention of Gail Sheldon. She would be a model on the 1969-1974 version of "Beat the Clock", also produced by Goodson-Todman.

The studio got a nice upgrade. Hit or miss on the show. The ladies in game 3 all had pleasant features. Bob's face will one day be known throughout the world by youngsters of all ages. To sing cold as he did was fantastic.

Well I guess that injection was completely worthless. We still have nothing that will do such a thing. But that does not matter since we have NEVER been able to even approach the height of the Van Allen radiation belts.

I knew the name Bob McGrath was familiar to me, but I couldn't remember from where. Just as the real one stood up the split second before I finally recognized his face I remembered. It's been a long time since I visited Sesame Street.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are now officially in color. Well, yes and no. Yes that we have now entered the color era, but no because only two color primetime episodes are available in their original form.
