There seemed to be such a connection between Danny and Bill Berry on stage. It was as though Mr. Berry was reliving the experience as they stood there. I just wonder if they stayed close in touch with each other.

Danny Nowell is still alive, or at least he was a few years ago from what I could find online. He became a Marin County Contractor in California who built homes. He said people still referred to him today as "the balloon boy" but that his kids got tired of it over the years. He had volunteered that day in Mill Valley (near San Francisco) to help launch the balloon when he was 11. There were about 200 other spectators. It made national news at the time in 1964. He would be about 68 today.

I picked the right one for the Balloonist, while the story was being read out he looked bashful, this is the body language I would expect from a hero.

oldfart4751 What???? I just watched thinking it was number 3 because he looked so proud and they seemed like they did have a moment there when number 3 was answering. Round 1 really fooled me!

On the same day as this aired, the long-running soap opera "Another World" debuted on NBC, opposite the daytime version of TTTT.

All three of the "real" people tonight were # 1. They don't usually do that.

Maybe just picked at random before the show. But if they picked out of a hat, getting 1,1,1 would be somewhat rare. I am not smart enough to figure the odds. Would it be 3x3x3? or 27 to 1.

@@kenyongray2615 the probability of picking three of the same number from the numbers 1, 2, 3 is 1 in 9. The probability of picking the number 1 on three consecutive choices from the numbers 1, 2, 3 is 1 in 27. The odds then would be 26:1.

The kid that he saved is 66 today of he's still living. He probably graduated from high school in 1971.

Bud did a lot of time management. Earlier, he had to tell the panel they were short on time. Then in the end, he stretched things out because he had too much time.

Oops! If he's still living today, he's probably 66.

So funny how what used to be considered a rescue (round 1....dangling by ones hand) is now considered an extreme sport. I can only imagine what 50 years from now will look like ;)

@@kentetalman9008I agree. This is my favorite set of panelists, although Don Ameche always asked such great rapid-fire questions, too.
