TOTEMIC Passive Healing Build!!

I've been running this build consistently and it's insanely easy and strong. The time you have to DPS is crazy. I see this build being viable well into 12'-15's. My guild group has to remind me to stop dps'ing and heal on huge pulls. Spirtlink-Surging and Healing tide together is almost anti-death CD for 8secs. GREAT UPLOAD TY TY

Could you share if you don’t mind…. Like a rotation type to follow at the beginning of an encounter/pull. A boss preferably, just to see in what order to put stuff I know Zuco mentioned surging totem, healing stream totem, raid and riptide. That it?

Super depends on the encounter but generally on trash, I drop surging totem then a few chain lightnings then a healing stream totem. Back to CL , of course I'm spamming riptide ALWAYS. If tank pulls big then I'll drop healing tide totem and if it gets bad spirit link. For boss it's the same opener but I macro flameshock-lavaburst-lightning bolt for single target

Zuco is dead on with the passive part. I don't know why ppl get bent out of shape on that but it's super easy and VERY effective. I ran it when he dropped the build months ago and I was doing 10's like they were soft butter... Good Luck and for God's Sake don't stop watching this guy he's a beast KZbinr!

​@Duck4Evers I struggle with knowing when I need to jump into ascendance, pop AG, those bigger cds. I reflexively default to spirit link so need to improve there... i am pretty good about not hardcasting chain heal tho. I feel like one of the players that can manage mana decently on this build

@@coryp6868 I raided last night just in normal on the totemic build and mana was certainly an issue. If our dps would have been pumping higher it might not have been as big a deal. I did M0;s yesterday and never struggled with mana with totemic. Big pulls or tank in trouble definitely spirit link!

Absolutely love this, boosted a shammy healer tonight and jumped right into dungeons and never healed on one before. I was always intimidated by amount of things in kit but this build has made me love resto! Thankyou for this build!

Do you mind writing up a quick rotation guide (just text is fine, don't want to take up too much of your time!) for me and my friend getting into shaman healing with this build? I was watching the little spell icon castings and trying to write it out Is it just: - Buffs (Lightning, Water, Earthliving, Skyfury, Tidecaller's Guard, Earthshield on self and tank) - Healing Rain down - Riptides on everyone - Healing Stream Totem when slightly larger pulls - Thunderstorm/Capacitor/WindShear for interrupts - 2nd Healing Stream, Healing Tide, and Spirit Link for bigger/oh sh*t moments - When do we use Healing Surge? (is there a proc or just for topping up single targets) - When do we use Lava Burst/Flameshock? - When do we use Unleash Life? - When do we use Healing Tide totem? - When do we use Chain Heal? You've got the general ideas down 100%... Use Healing Surge when someone dips below 40% of their HP OR, you can use Mana Tide Totem and get the instant cast Surge's (Which comes in clutch). Use Unleash Life ON CD. Don't worry about it healing anyone, just use it to get the Ancestor out. Use Lava Burst for big ST damage when both of your Ancestors are out. Otherwise, only really use Lava Burst when you get a Lava Surge proc. Use Healing Tide Totem often. Use it more than you think you should. don't save it for a big "oh shit" moment, just send it when 3+ party members have taken 40% of their hp in damage or more. Chain Heal is really only used in this build when 3+ party members have taken 40% of their hp in damage. You want to use Chain Heals when your Ancestors are up. It's not that great without the Ancestors copying it.

Picked up shaman for first time in prepatch. Copy pasted the wowhead builds and almost abandoned the the toon because it wasn't very enjoyable and felt overly complicated. These builds kept me playing shaman, made the class a lot more fun to play. Thank you.

I’ve been running a version of this build that is even more passive. I do an opener of Surging Totem+HST+Downpour to give everyone 10% healing received and 20% increased health. I occasionally will play with Ancestral Totem to give everyone a 30% health bonus for burst damage. It’s been really fun. Btw, good call on the chainheal reach talent. I didn’t realize I wasn’t getting everyone with my totem chain heals

I'm very new to Resto Shaman. What I can't wrap my head around is why their Healing Surge and Healing Wave both heal for the same amount. I recognize the mana cost vs cast time difference. But I'm used to seeing higher cast time healing spells actually heal for more than their lower cast time counterparts.

The main thing is the mana cost for sure. There are also talents that interact differently with those 2 spells. Primordial Wave makes Healing Wave cleave onto allies with Riptide, but does not interact with Healing Surge at all. A key passive for Resto Shaman is Tidal Waves, and again, Healing Surge and Healing Wave gain different benefits from that passive.

What totem cd are you resetting with totemic recall if you're not running earthen? You can basically only use it on HST and cap totem in this build...doesn't seem worth the two points. I'd rather have totemic projection and mana spring.

I don't know healing profiles in dungeons but rather than something like ascendance procs picking up the riptide spread talent might be stronger, I find that does massive amounts of passive healing.

In Dungeons I'd say Farseer... In Raid, prob Totemic if you can get everyone stacked up for the Healing Rain (at least 6 ppl anyway).

yes love playing totemic as resto, i use a similar build to this, altough i do not take downpour. i find it doesnt do it for me, most of it is overhealing anyway. Also how can you play totemic without totemic projection, tanks always walk out of your totem... i also castsequence macro it to the totem itself so i can move it once with the same button, then mos of the time the second movement it comes of cooldown.

@@vzual probably something like /castsequence [@cursor] reset=24 Surging Totem, Totemic Projection People have been using something similar for static field for years. Word of warning, though. If you use it while you're on GCD, sometimes it just projects your other totems to that spot without casting the surging totem. I've had it happen with static field way too many times to the point where I gave up on the macro.

yes i was going to post it right now. it is the same apart form the 24 reset i like 22 so i can se the final second cooldown on my bars but 24 works just fine. (Remove the space between # and showtooltip) # showtooltip /castsequence [@cursor] reset=22 Surging Totem, Totemic Projection

The talent under restos earth shield, it heals for each stack your missing when you refresh earth shield. Been one of my top heals in heroics its SO GOOD. It can crit and 0-100 the tank AND YOURSELF in an emergency. I have the farseer tree so earth shield gets more stacks. Also i feel i get more healing rain value as farseer than totem. I know totem gives 30% more heals on ur rain but the 2 immediate heals from downpour and the other thing are geeat too and u get those twice as much wothout the totemic totem version.

TBH, i still think HR is very situational in M+ Enviroment right now. It has its place, but a lot of boss fights needs people to be spread, you cant stand behind the tank most of the time and usually somebody is doing some stupid mechanic and is not in range anyways. I see HR doring more in Raid, where more fights are with either Melee or Range camps.

I would HIGHLY suggest taking Ancestral Vigor in all RSham builds, insane utility. 10% is the same as Warrior Rallying Cry and double as good as Priest Fort....

@@christmasham4312 lol no... The Ele nerfs aren't really nerfs. The mastery we gained back added 3-5% more damage + more overload chance... So it's a net loss of 1-2%

I tested the previous build and honestly it doesn't work as well as in the previous expansion. Just standard totemic with chain heal beats the previous passive build in every way. I will test this variant today, but I don't think it is very playable. More like such a FUN version to do something different.
