oh amen. in an industry like hollywood that’s about as daring as it gets. being strong and comfortable without makeup, botox, hair done, etc. (and ironically it actually makes her MORE beautiful) and it’s even more apparent on her show. she’s not afraid to just bare all. hell, even emotionally- she’s not afraid to “ugly cry” haha like we all do! she’s just real. viola is an absolute force of nature. an inspiration for all women, not just women of color!

I love how Taraji, a fellow nominee, uplifted Viola in that moment. Taraji has ALWAYS been that way. She was supposed to be on the cover of Ebony Magazine alone when she got an Oscar nomination. Viola was nominated that same year and in the same category. Taraji insisted they include Viola in the piece and on the cover. And they did. Love this woman to pieces.
