It's not the same glitch. The one before (L-cancel) canceled the jump slash animation midawy by choosing the recall rune and changing shield in the quick menu. This one only requires you to take out your bow, which is much faster.

How did you start the game with it asking you to update

I have my switch set up to not connect to Nintendo servers so it doesn't know about the updates.

It's done by blocking Nintendo servers through DNS, but keep in mind this is only really useful if you have a homebrewed switch because you won't be able to use Nintendo's online features. I also don't know of an easy way to remove the update data if you already downloaded it without homebrew.

Most runs die in the first 10-15 minutes. I don't have much of an estimate for % of runs I complete but it's very low.

How to switch between versions?

If you have a homebrewed switch you can download different versions and remove update data. Otherwise you can get back to 1.0 if you have a physical copy and factory reset your switch which will get rid of the update data and as long as you don't update you can play from the cartridge which has 1.0. Just make sure you backup all your saves.

Bombs have a way smaller explosion and deal a lot less damage than gems so army would be really slow if you just used bombs.

French text is slightly faster because there are a couple fewer text boxes to mash through. Russian is the fastest language saving 1.1s over English compared to French which saves .7s but it's also faster for botw which I had been playing recently.

This vid is good but the game is too disappointing to like. Its ridiculous at the ending that they literally hit the water at terminal velocity and are not instantly killed. The opening plunge redefines the 'High Dive' from any other Zelda game but even that one should have instantly crushed Link.

Why do developers who know their game will be a big speed running game, make unskippable intros. Just give an option in settings that you can skip and start the game.
