@@michaelshepherd885 Maybe, but I'm not so sure. With Autotune, you can tell, but this performance has too many examples of it being his own voice. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. Listen to other pieces from the same concert. There are too many examples where he slides (or down) into a note.

@@yttreblemaker I know what you are saying but Lukather and others from this gig have confirmed Kimball was autotuned for this release. In fact the real vocal performance is here (kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGWch4BpqN5qm80 ) - Kimball's voice was well on the way out by this point .. sadly.

@@michaelshepherd885 Ok, so I went and compared both versions of the performance, and listened to other pieces, like Pamela, with those exposed first notes, and considering the recording (I'm guessing on a phone among the audience), and there isn't a lot of difference between that and the "finished" product, maybe a few notes here and there. What made Kimball a pleasure to watch was his absolute passion for the music, and the effort he put in. In my initial comment, I was referring to the whole performance, not just the vocals. So much effort and emotion. Sorry, but Joseph Williams just doesn't come close. And considering that Kimball is so much older than the rest of the group (closer to Sklar's age), yeah, one would expect that his chops were beginning to go, especially doing all those concerts, which can be brutal on the vocal chords. But yeah, I hear ya.

@@yttreblemaker get ya on some stuff here. But a comparison video of williams and kimball on KZbin comparing them when at the same age shows you Williams far superior at the age Kimball was here. Its a personal choice but while Kimball sings with soul and passion, he also is out of tune and screaming ... a lot. Williams for me is the better singer and hits notes now Kimball couldnt 15 years younger than him.

@Donato MJ Lots of other comments on here are insinuating the autotune narrative. Bobby isn't carrying enough of the song for me to believe autotune is involved in this version of the song. It would blow a lot of people's minds if someday it came that Joe Williams used autotune way more than Bobby. But I hope that doesn't happen. I don't think that would happen. Toto had enough music critics since their first album . I have no intention of joining them. Toto deserves respect. They earned it.
