i am a musician but i dont play drums. so the best tribute i can ever pay to jeff is to share his music with others and listen to it and appreciate its immortality. you have another role. not only are you a drummer, but after much practice you can truly pay homage to the man and i am 110% certain he is smiling down on you, maybe giving you a nod. we all approve. even jeff. thank you for sharing this.

Wicked good creation of the immortal Jeff Porcaro's shuffle beat. There's an incredible amount of stuff going on here, great job capturing it all!

Remember the video for this song... The woman dancing in that was Penny from Dirty Dancing and the love interest in Staying Alive with Travolta.... This was from 1982 I believe..... Keep the flame alive man... I am loving it.....

Awesome playing Steve, very tight! Great sounding kit!👍

Thank you!! Somehow, I get a pretty good sound in my basement with an inexpensive drum kit with 15-year-old heads, an old analog mixer and a mishmash of beat-up microphones.

The Late Great Jeff Porcaro. Gone way to soon. Rosanna from ToTo IV. I think this album won a Grammy for Album of the year. Jeff is one of my favorites. Well done on this cover my good dude. 👍🤘

This song is the drummer equivalent of climbing K-2 or Everest, to play it like Porcaro did...and bravo Sir. That dotted eighth triplet with the ghostnotes too...gorgeous playing and Jeff himself is smiling down saying "holy shit!"

Thank you for your flurry of comments on so many of my drum covers. I appreciate you taking time to watch. Just remember that I'm COPYING the great drummers who created these songs. Those guys are the great ones!!!
@kingsecho33514 жыл бұрын
Even though you are copying the amazing drum work Of others doesn’t mean that you aren’t great as well. Don’t sell your self short they aren’t many people that place this solid. I play a lot of stringed instruments for twenty five years but only drums for five years. It takes a great ear for music as well as ability. I have learned a lot watching you man. Thanks

awesome cover. how do i develop a fast shuffle like that?
@SteveToccoDrummer4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. The best way to develop a fast shuffle motion is to learn the Moeller drumming technique. There are videos all over KZbin that teach this method. Once you get comfortable with it, you'll be shuffling like a Vegas blackjack dealer!!! LOL!! Good luck!!
