There might be some pitch correction on the vocals, though?
@theprof8254 Жыл бұрын
@@tjuvholmen I saw this show live and I'm quite sure the vocals were pretty much fully live. Perhaps there was a track where a backing layer was added, but I'm usually quite critical for vocal additions that aren't live and notice them instantly. For example, they performed spanish sea live in the past with some additions, I think. Don't get me started on the tours in the past with bobby where sometimes Tony Spinner was somehow singing three parts at once, lol (he sang his ass off still). But this recent tour was pretty much as live as it gets, vocals were very, very good. Steve is aging abit but they know how to deal with that so that he gets some help. And his guitar playing is insane.
@tjuvholmen Жыл бұрын
@@theprof8254 I think they might be using pitch correction. Autotune live, on J's vocals. However, what do I know!
@theprof8254 Жыл бұрын
@@tjuvholmen I'm quite sure it wasn't corrected but you never know for sure. It sounded natural, great and live. To me it felt like Joseph knew exactly which songs, lines and parts he could sing the best. And those parts he then performed brilliantly. He's just very fit, quite extraordinary for a singer of his age. Many colleagues really lose their range but Joseph still sounds amazing. I'm told he really takes care of his voice

I don't know, the Line up from 2015 onwards with Shannon Forrest was definitely better than this one, especially because David Paich and Steve Porcaro were a part of it.
@JM_20192 жыл бұрын
@@CaptainSpyware To me that line-up was like a Toto-Coverband. Especially Shem with his "Skype-headset". :) And Porcaro of course is a important name for Toto, but Steves keyboard parts are probably not. I have no compaints with the two keyboarders now, only Paichs voice is missing.

@@CaptainSpyware Saw them in August of 2014 (opening for Michael McDonald for some reason) and they had David Paich, Steve Porcaro and David Hungate with them. Hungate performed with them throughout 2014 and 2015, and played some of the bass parts on the Toto XIV album. Also, we can't forget about Lenny Castro being there during that period as well!

Add Lenny Castro and this is up to par with the 2017-2019 lineup, Sputs groove and Maggioras vocals are very unique to this lineup. X has chops and versatility that suit Toto extremely well.
