With Tottenham and Arsenal drawn together and no other venue in London deemed suitable, Wembley Stadium was chosen to host its first FA Cup semi-final. Arsenal were undoubtedly the favourites - they had only lost two matches all season and been defeated just once in their last ten North London derbies. I'm struggling to remember when it stopped being important, i know many point towards united withdrawing, but I'm not so sure. all i do know it's a sad competition these days. also why the fuck did they rebuild wembley??
