This "Spursy" phenomenon is not new, it has not just manifested itself since ENIC (D. Levy's) involvement @2000. I am nearly 70 years old and have supported Tottenham all my life, i.e. pre- 'Double side'. I recall many times (particularly during the 1970's) leading 0-2 at Old Trafford or Anfield and eventually drawing or losing the game. What was also difficult was losing the 'Never lost a Major Cup Final claim' when Tottenham lost to Feyenoord in the UEFA Cup final in 1974 - Bill Nic. left soon after.....sad times. Then losing the 1987 FA Cup final to Coventry spoiled another record, especially as it was the last of Glenn Hoddle, Chris Waddle and Clive Allen as Tottenham players. Being 3-0 up at half time (at home) against Man. Utd. and eventually losing 3-5 (in 2002 - watching it live on sat. TV. in the Natuna Sea where i was working), under one of my heros, Glenn Hoddle as manager was at the time not great, especially as my wife is a Man. U. fan. Similarly losing to Sunderland, Wolves, Southampton, Stoke, etc, when Tottenham were considered the 'far' superior side in games more recently. However, i will forever remember the look on Garth Crooks face as he absorbed the atmosphere during the 'pre-match pitch inspection" prior to the 1981 FA Cup Final and when he scored the winning goal at Anfield ' in 1984 (0-1) to claim our first win there since 1913! These moments should be savoured, many other sides have never experienced them. While i may 'query' some of the tactics Ange employs (ultra-high defensive line), he should be given time to implement his methods. It seems to me that there is a 'large mental aspect' to losing so many 'apparently easy' games, unfortunately on-field leaders like Dave Mackay, Alan Mullery, Steve Perryman, Graham Roberts, Gary Mabbutt to support Sonny are not in abundance. There was a time in the 1990's when financial mis-management nearly 'broke the Club'. The anti-ENIC brigade may not remember or be aware of this. Daniel Levy as a life-long Tottenham supporter will not allow the club to be similarly jeopardised and wants on-field success for all our teams as we all do.

I think Ange is trying very hard not to believe this club is a basket case. I get that impression. A very unexpected response from him to take the blame for the loss, reverse psychology me thinks, though deep down I think he is scratching his head. Lets not forget how long managers like Ange have been plying their trade, he has brought many bottom dwellers back up the table, he has made a name for himself being able to accomplish this when so many have written the clubs off. I don't think Tottenham have any real choice but to stick with Ange umtil at least one more season, otherwise how will anybody know what is really the problem.

It's no coincidence that since ENIC took over, we've only won a single cup. Under Poch, he signed his own P45 when he mentioned the squad needed a painful rebuild. Under Harry he requested a couple of players to push us on, but we ended up with Saha and we failed to move on. We had a chance with Jose but Levy sacked him a week before the final. Remember Levy saying the new stadium is the game changer and gate receipts etc will go to the team? ENIC is all about profit, not painful rebuilds and spending extra to bring in quality players that could take us to the next level. Levy is a corporate genius. He has no interest in the club. It's so obvious. History tells a lot. Where is the Spurs museum at the stadium? No mention of our glorious past. It says a lot.

Surely players want to win things! They don't deliberately play badly. There is something in the culture whereby a lack of belief and nervousness enters the players psych when other teams show resilience and a plan and they can't even do the basics. I actually think Ange has succumbed to this mentality, just look at his post match interviews, he can't make eye contact with the interviewer. He says it's on him, but he clearly has no idea how to improve things. Yes, give him to the end of the season, but we will be mid table and trophy-less yet again.

I was around when Bill Nick was in charge.Then players were told the level and responsibility needed to play for the club.If they deviated and slackened off they were out! Now they are cuddled and pampered like divas and told never mind do it better next time.They must realise that every performance is important not Clock off in games we are expected to win.This is mentality and it comes from the Top of the club.My thoughts go back to Danny Rose saying to Mourinho -don’t agree with you,I’m going to speak to Daniel. Winners that's what Spurs lack, you can't keep buying potential because what tends to happen is that even when that potential blossoms (Bale, Modric, Berbatov) Levy will sell for a big fee, then buy a cheaper replacement. We're winning games big and losing by one goal, the fact we can hammer teams like United and Villa shows we're potentially a serious team. We're the league's highest scorers and the goals conceded isn't a serious problem, it's stopping this ridiculous habit of losing by the odd goal to hardworking compact teams which i think is down to pre-game complacency and arrogance. Ange should stay till the end of the year unless something drastically goes wrong between now and then. He should develop the team for the long haul and we should stop making ridiculous demands on this squad. It seems that Romero and Porro are on their way. They're best mates on and off the field. I can see them being best mates at the Bernabeu, too. Tottenham have a history of doing business with Spain's Lillywhites. We need three central defenders, a left and a right back, two midfielders and another winger. If that means recalling Ashley Phillips and going for big, tall strong local lads, it should be prioritised. Don't go for Spanish talent like Bryan Gil as we are just lining their pockets and giving them a springboard for an international career with Spain and a pathway to Real, Atletico, Barcelona, Juventus and the like. Ange must stay for the remainder of the season and perhaps the next one, too so that the rebuild can continue to take shape. After that, we can recruit a top shelf European manager like Arne Slot who would be able to take us on to the next stage of our development while showing more astute tactical awareness. No Ryan Mason appointments please!!!!

It's almost laughable that in this, and so many other videos, that the performance and desire of PROFESSIONAL athletes is simply boiled down to Levy/Ange/any outside source to give them ambition. To essentially offload the blame from a professional and discount that they can only have desire due to their team owner is so far off. It's funny that it's even mentioned that Decky isn't affected by this - so clearly it's possible for a pro to have desire to go out and win without being coddled by a coach or owner. The desire to always blame Levy is laughable (in this frame of reference, he does have culpabilities elsewhere). Levy could only provide motivation via firing/offloading players, but they're signed up to contracts. If he were to start giving or negotiating shorter contracts - that likely makes the club look less desirable. If these players require motivation via the threat of being offloaded or solely via money - probably still going to have games like this where they don't show up. So stop blaming Levy for this issue and stick to blaming him for things he's done. Blame the recruiting team for not finding players with desire, or outright blame the players for not coming into work every day and doing their best/finding the internal desire to go win.

Surely as a professional player with ambition you would want to win? I cannot understand how you would down perform… they must have personal pride and not want to lose at any cost. There are too many tourist type supporters too who turn up with half and half scarves or for a day out. We all seem to sense failure and the crowd transcend that onto the pitch..weird phenomenon. We also feed off the game itself…the groans start when you have poor passes or the games not going to plan but as soon as we get a chance then it picks up. We can all see the goalkeeper we have is a vampire and scared of crosses or even taking command of the box. There are plenty of times too when we have not practiced set pieces , corners are a joke. There’s lots of issues, it really does seem like there is a disjointed squad of individuals .. Ipswich were fighting for each other and we are not. That comes from a common goal being drummed into the players, if we are to shake this monkey off our back EVERYONE needs to act like a family and fight for each other, we sadly are not .

Until Levy goes (which I doubt he ever will) it is pointless sacking Ange & appointing yet another manager. After all we've had some of the top managers & they all failed to win a trophy. Ange will fail to do so too but he may as well stay & try to get the team to entertain rather than demoralise. COYS!!!

​@@jasonstanley775 Yes you're right but Levy will not spend the big money on wages to get the players to compete at the top of this league, so whoever the manager is they will be hamstrung by this fact. In addition to this our scouting team are not very good. We had a brilliant manager that was liked by fans & players alike - Poch. But again Levy stiffled the progression by not supporting him with some top signings. It's a pity because loyal fans like us need rewarding with a trophy or three after so long & so much patience 😄

Get Eddie Howe in! We have a fabulous group of players and I credit the building of the group mainly down to Postecoglu, but his tactics and mindless gungho attacking approach guarantees we win then we lose, and on it goes. Give him this season then go big for Eddie Howe.

Surely as a professional player with ambition you would want to win? I cannot understand how you would down perform… they must have personal pride and not want to lose at any cost. There are too many tourist type supporters too who turn up with half and half scarves or for a day out. We all seem to sense failure and the crowd transcend that onto the pitch..weird phenomenon. We also feed off the game itself…the groans start when you have poor passes or the games not going to plan but as soon as we get a chance then it picks up. We can all see the goalkeeper we have is a vampire and scared of crosses or even taking command of the box. There are plenty of times too when we have not practiced set pieces , corners are a joke. There’s lots of issues, it really does seem like there is a disjointed squad of individuals .. Ipswich were fighting for each other and we are not. That comes from a common goal being drummed into the players, if we are to shake this monkey off our back EVERYONE needs to act like a family and fight for each other, we sadly are not .
