Maybe when Melkor/Morgoth seduced and corrupted him, he could have abused him too, and unwished physical contacts afterwards became unbearable to him ??? Mairon "the Admirable" should not have been very less handsome than the first deceiving forms of Sauron... In RoP he says that he has been tortured by Morgoth (and that maybe is true, as he had failed in preventing Beren and Luthien to steal a silmaril from his boss' crown, that probably had been punished, with Morgoth's kindness). And in RoP too, Adar describing Sauron's face, when he corrupted him on Morgoth's behalf, says "it was beautiful". Being so beautiful sometime is dangerous, as many women - but not only - know...
