Touching Father’s Day 2016

Jared, I said it to you and Joel at CVX Live but I watch you guys because I didn't have a father growing up and you're both great examples of fathers to me. Because of a very ugly divorce, Father's Day has ALWAYS been a day of sadness and pain. For 22 years, Father's Day was either ignored or referred to as "2nd Mother's Day". But for the VERY first time in 22 years, yesterday was a happy Father's Day. I just celebrated my first Father's Day with my son and it was a Father's Day where I was actually not in pain. Thank you for your example, thank you for your kind words, and thank you for being an amazing person to your whole family and the world. Best wishes.

In fact, I'm having to cut them off from seeing us or my son for a while because yesterday my father in law went on a rant about how horrible of a mother I was because my 9 month old dropped a toy off his high chair and I picked it up for him...

Jared you are lucky to have your Dad here for fathers day. My nieces and nephew that live with me lost their parents when they were very young. Sometimes father day and mothers day are difficult for some. My nephew graduated this week and I knew he wished his parents were there. Never take your parents for granted or say to your self I am too busy this week to go visit them. Life is precious visit them now or hug them and tell them how much they mean to you

Your relationship with your Father is so special! Even though my Dad is still alive, Fathers day is a day I never want to remember. Its taken years for me to understand that my Heavenly Father has always been there for me through many hardships. DADS...stand up and be men...love your wives...love your children...spend time with them...speak life into them with positive words...protect and love your families. Jared your message was amazing. In March of this year I saw the work of God when he saved my dad. My dad got really sick and we were told he was going to make it but he did. This is Father's Day and and every day now on is going to be a reminder I don't know how long I will have with my dad. Not many people have the blessing of a second chance with their father an I am not going to miss it.

I was one of those people that sent that type of tweet. My dad passed away 11 years ago when I was 5. These types of days, and every sort of milestone is hard and it really does feel worse as you get older because memories begin to fade and you worry about making decisions because you are pretty much alone with it. Yesterday I spent father's day alone, upset and just plain bitter about everything. I told myself I wasn't going to watch any vlogs of Father's day and yet here I am. It's been so rough and I want to say thank you to Jared, For being the only person for me to even mention not having a dad on Father's day.

Growing up I never knew what having a dad was like and Fathers Day was always one of the more tough times of the year. One of the great things about KZbin is I now get to see what I want to find in a future husband who will one day be a dad to my children. What you said about losing dads meant a lot to me, I lost my dad when I was just 2 months old through suicide. It effects me daily without people knowing. You are such a great dad Jared and I look up to you so much, I love when you talk about life lessons because my dad isn't here to teach me them. Father's Day is probably the most special day of my entire year, now days. I used to hate it because we buried my grandfather on Father's Day 2006. Since then, I had kinda hated it. Then in 2011 on December 23rd my dad was diagnosed with a type of leukemia that is hard to treat. BUT he made it and is cancer free. So, I am so thankful to celebrate life on Fathers Day.

I cried listening to Jared talk. Thank you Jared for your compassion. My dad died suddenly and unexpectantly 2 days befor Christmas. It's been almost 6 months now, but still feels like the day it happened. I miss him so much. Father's Day was really hard. And I know next month on his birthday will be hard as well. Cherish your father. Cherish your parents. Love them. Make forever memories with them . We never know when our last day on earth will be. my father was diagnosed with cancer beginning of this year. it has spread everywhere and they can not do anything other than keep his painkiller medication on a fair level. he looks nothing like the striving, strong and happy man I remember my dad to be. it is so incredibly hard to see him like this. he shuts the world out completely and only he and the lord knows his thoughts. my father is here, sitting on a chair, walking like a 1 yr old who just started to walk, needs help in every single task the day throws at him, yet he refuses to use a wheel chair.. as long as he can walk, he will do so no matter how hard it is.. he is still strong and he has fight left in him and i am thankful to call him my father. god knew he was the best dad in line when it was my turn to find my family. bless all the fathers (and mothers) out there that teach their children to be good and thankful. i am a mom to my 3yr old and i will do my best to teach my son the life lessons my father once taught me.

My dad abandoned the family when I was still a toddler. My Grandpa raised me as best as he could, taught me how to swim and ride a bike. He passed away on May 2nd this year, his funeral was just today. So, understandably this video made me cry but it also made me happy because I could see how genuinely careful Jared's words were chosen. He is so honest and I love that about him. My dad is still with me, but my mom isn't. She passed away on January 19th, 2015 from Pancreatic Cancer when she was 43. I was in 6th grade when this happened, and I am going into 8th grade now. I still miss her so much. One thing she wanted to see was my 13th birthday(which will happen on 7/16/16), but she wasn't even alive for my 12th birthday. She also wanted to see me start high school, and lots of other things as well. I love you mom, and I miss you so much! I wish you were still here with me. My life will never be the same without you, Mom. I would give anything to have you back in my life. Thank you so much for making a huge impact on my life. I will never forget you! Love you Mom!

I do go and see her in a nursing home but she doesn't know we are there. She is blind and doesn't really respond to anything. I am 32, I haven't ever met my Father as that was his choosing. My Mother never married, so I was raised without a step-father as well. It's a hard day every year. took me two days to build up the courage to watch this. first time in a year that I didn't watch one on time. my dad died at the end of 2010 when i was 13, im now 19 but it still feels like yesterday. My dad passed away 3 1/2 years ago and I miss him every second of the day but I always think of him on my birthday and on Father's Day and it makes me think about when he told me he lost his dad when he was 14 years old and he found it hard but then when he was 30 he met my mum and had me my brother and my sister and I feel blessed that I have the rest of my family to remember him with me. Xx love you guys you make my day xxxxxc

When Jared was saying the speech it made me tear up and it makes me so happy that he understands. I sadly didn't celebrate Father's Day with my dad because I don't see him anymore, but I love that Jared put that out there and thank you x ❤️😞

I also just want to thank you jared for the emotional talk as well because now I'm 14 and I lost my father when I was 8 years old. Yes, it was hard for me but I will always be grateful that god chose him to be my father even though it was his time to go so soon

The talk at the end was perfect. And even as someone who has lost their father, yesterday was not a sad time. Because I watched home movies and thought of good times. Jared, I get so happy when I see you with your mom and dad and your family and how much you appreciate it. The support and nice words u give is really helpful and lifting to hear, especially on these kind of days. I'm 17 and lost my beautiful, loving mother in 2010 when I was 11. She meant the world to me. Mothers day is therefor quite harder for me to go through, when I don't have a mother to kiss and hug. But I do have a dad, and I am beyond grateful for him and the relationship we have. We are all different and we have all lost someone or something. Lots of love and prayers to all of you, happy fathers day!

Why must you make me cry? The dad talk got me. I never grew up knowing my parents, I was adopted by my moms grandma fortunately I had a father figure in my life. I am thankful my littles have an amazing step dad, or how he calls them his bonus daughters.

My dad lost his father when he was 19. He got cancer and it was hard for them, but I still have my dad and I love him so much. I'm so thankful.

I started crying during that and when Jared was talking about the people and there losses and i can totally relate because i lost my dad when i was 9 and i am now 14. Its been hard but i got through it. If anyone is going through any rough times im here for you. i love you Ellie and Jared!!!!

I am late watching this it's Tuesday but I wanted to wish you a Happy Father's Day Jared. You are a wonderful father to Jackson and Calvin. My dad passed away 5 years ago this July to colon cancer he was 72( I am 40) and I miss him every day but I remember all the good times with him and how caring, kind and supportive he was to me and my sister each and every day. I am happy you had a good day, love you and your family!
