Even with the computerized voice as a narrator, it did not take away from the story which was very good.

1st Story. Well written story of a school reunion triggering memories of past mistreatment, Satisfying and happy ending. 2nd Story. Another well written, (almost certainly by a Japanese author), story with a satisfying conclusion. 3rd Story. A strange and convoluted plot leads to a very different ending. Slight editing error near the end, pronoun for brother swapped from "my" to "her". 4th Story. Japan's strongly hierarchical society is yet again reflected in the last story of this omnibus, the high belief in educational and familial status almost derails the happy ending but the common good wins through.
