Hello Maico. I had this test today with a GSI 39 machine. The technician shoved/pushed the device really hard in my left ear. Is Pushing hard a normal practice? or should it be done gently? Now I have pain and soreness in outer ear.

Dear Gogadev, in order to achieve a high measurement quality, it is necessary to get a good sealing of the ear canal for the measurement to run smoothly. The probe is inserted into the outer part of the ear canal. Since the skin in the ear canal is very sensitive, this may be a little uncomfortable and may cause a pressing sensation. During the measurement, you may also experience a feeling of pressure. However, you should not experience any pain. If the pain is not gone after a few hours, we would recommend seeing a doctor to check the ear canal. The device you were tested with belongs not to MAICO. GSI = Grason Stadler. Best regards, your MAICO team

@@MAICODiagnosticsGmbH Thank you so much for the reply. I was fully aware that it's not your device. I was so panicking that I had to ask you a question . Yes there is mild pain in that area after 3 hours. The audiologist really squezzed that into my left ear.👂
