NYEBE is a transliteration of the Spanish "nieve" which means 'snow'. When I heard this song for the first time, I was wondering why Pablo wrote a song about snow which we do not have in this tropical country. It was like singing "I am dreaming of a white Christmas... in the Philippines." 😄 When he introduced the song in the visualizer with "uncertainty", "longing"... And learning that he wrote it during pandemic, I understood nyebe as something which refers to those uncertain, unexpected realities that come to shake our lives. Challenges which we can face in the company of those we love. Pablo is really a deep lyricist. Hats off.

Fun facts: There is no and will never snow in the Philippines... that's why in the song it says "Alam ko na di ito possible, pero bakit bumubuhos ang nyebe/ I know its impossible but why is it pouring snow"

It says there that it is impossible for snow to fall because in the Philippines we don't experience snow. NYEBE is a word derived from Spanish word Nieve which is Snow. So to compare the coldness of the snow to one's feeling as if their heart is frozen is unnatural. But for some reason that is what they are feeling. This I think was those times when despite going viral, they are still contemplating if they will pursue their career.

Nyebe is also about our struggles, especially when the pandemic hit, and we were all restricted in our movements and interactions with each other. Some families were separated for various reasons-if not Covid itself-such as being isolated, being stranded somewhere when the pandemic happened, unable to gather together and meet up or watch a movie, etc. We may lose the warmth that came with a hug, when we see someone smile (how could we when we’re wearing masks?), and hence, we tend to feel alone and grow cold. But the song is hopeful, that one day it will all end, the snow will melt in time, and we just need to hold out a bit more. Such a wonderful song, and Pablo is also the brains behind this visualizer! I love this RV, love your video of their live performance in New York! Thanks so much for sharing! ❤

Pablo made a really different song, no trash, all with beautiful meanings. you will be amazed by their adlibs, especially pablo and stell, apart from their really good voices. I was one of the witnesses of how good they are in live performance and for me, NYEBE is one of their songs that I will never get tired to listened. Nyebe is my comfort song.for me they are a good example of a pop group, it's great to hear their voices especially when their voices are blending it's sounds really good...no autune!no lipsing 💪👏.thanks ❤🥰

Love gives so much warmth to our lives...and when one is alone, that warm feeling turns into coldness. Just hearing a loved one's voice will melt the ice. If you would notice, ken wiped a tear bec this song usually gets into him. He has been separated from his parents for so long. He saw them 2x only in his life during that time of the concert. So i'm happy to hear that he was reunited with his parents recently.

While they were on tour they filmed specifically for this visualizer. I know this was written during the pandemic but like MaPa, a tribute to their parents or parent figures, Nyebe is a song about family members who were separated and the uncertainty of seeing one another. I believe many parents, like Ken's choose to work overseas to support their families. During the pandemic it was uncertain when or if they would see each other again. That was the meaning of the qoute at the end.

That song is dedicated for the OFW. Its a "SNOW" metaphor what OFW is experiencing being away from their family and of course their mother land. As it says home sweet home but the reality of greener pasture Filipino look for abroad so to better provide more in the material aspect

Nyebe is actually a Christmas song, hence it was released in December, although a bit hastily because A'tin has been requesting for this for so long since the boys have been performing this in concerts unreleased. It is about being apart from loved ones, particularly during Christmas because a lot of Filipinos work overseas (perhaps we're the biggest exporter of labor/skilled worker/professionals all over the world). It is the best time of the year for us. If you ever are to see your family here after being apart for long, it's gotta be Christmas!

there is no winter in the Philippines, and any mention of snow would very likely be in the context of someone in a faraway land (where there is winter) . Even the word "nyebe" (from Spanish "nieve") is not familiar to many people, including myself, as the concept of snow is foreign. I believe the context of this song is the group, having accomplished so much as to bring them to foreign lands where there is winter, now miss their loved ones, having realized what is really important in life. As well, the pain and yearning of missing loved ones in a foreign land is only compounded by winter, when one yearns for physical and emotional warmth.

Pablo wrote this song during lockdown due to pandemic, when the boys were separated. They were supposed to travel to 10 cities in the country but was cut off because of the pandemic. I think Snow here represents the pandemic that caused them to be separated from each other and from A'tin specially.

I heard that the "Nyebe/Snow" in this song are tears. Apparently tears have different forms when frozen depending on your emotion... just like snowflakes. I can feel the emotions in their voices... especially when Ken starts the song and during bridge when Pableo sings about breaking the wings to make time still. I love SB19 and this song so much!
