This video is about the plight of the fishermen in Guyana. It shows the life of Mr. Dexter Stephens, a fisherman fighting to stay in the trade he loves. Fishermen from Meten-Meer-Zorg Koker are also facing similar crisis. It is a catalogue of my own experience of the hardships they suffer while they are out in the river/sea. their challanges;
From the eye of an experienced senior journalist, this is a window into Guyana's people and community.

good effort Shabna. You got on the boat and out in the rain. You got your feet wet and your hands of the fish. Good work on your part. One thing I find about guyanese...no matter what industry they in, whether they are farmers, bus operators, truckers, fishermen, retailers, it does not matter...THEY ALL CRYING how tings hard. And so I have to ask myself, what if these people were living in a country where there was no water, no rivers, no forest, no roads, little food. What if these guys were living in a country that is ravished by famine, or war, or dictatorship. What if these guys were living in a country that was ravished by natural disasters like tornadoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, snow storms. Guyanese really need to put things into perspective and realise how fortunate they are. I know what the issue is. They all want to get rich quick...fast...now.

Almost 50 years away from Guyana. You do an amazing job showcasing the economic engine of Guyana. Absolutely, insightful and love your show. Always await your next episode. I like your close up shots of the fruits and people faces whether it being joy or tireless labour. Keep up the good work and think of how much good you are also doing for us that are not there. The one on the flooding has my thoughts spinning on how much analytics and numbers (locations, weather pattern, drainage history, spending allocations, value of crops etc.) can highlight the plight. Merci and thank you.
