His facility is nothing short of exquisite. The fact he took the rest of us along through the build process, was simply a treat. And I dare say, his build inspired many. I would not have an aluminum stand for example, had I not watched this building come to fruition

do more with Than. You Than Thein and Jake Adams were my inspiration going into the hobby and going through all the ups and downs. your office tank tour gave me idea for how to maintain my tank on my schedule and now I'm somehow doing better with sps than softies and lps. like for obvious reasons because I don't dose nutrients even though i need to 😅 but I'm happy with how things are so don't want to change anything (for now) you have all responded to questions directly on IDs and problems and even ideas going in to my first build.

I have purchased from Tidal Gardens, and they experience was one of the best I've ever had. Every coral was amazing, the price was competitive, and even in Michigan, everything arrived alive and well! Wish I could visit the facility. Would gladly pay for that experience.

Interesting listening to your assessment of costs and overbuilding. I “overbuild” too but my costs are a lot lower because I do all my own permitting, design, architecture, engineering, concrete, steel, plumbing, electric, coatings, etc. in addition to building my own farm I built my own USDA butchershop just for my farm. Doing it all myself means it cost about 10% of what the typical cost to build would be, long term maintenance and operation are lower, it is totally integrated and I enjoy doing it.

Could you do a video on cable management? How you organize cables in a manner that will allow for easy removal? Being on my first tank this is not something I find a lot about and is a huge hassle when it comes time to clean out or replace equipment in the sump.
@pubwvjАй бұрын
Out in the wild where I scuba dive in the Philippines there is a fair bit of variation in light (intense sun to very heavy overcast) and temperature (25°C to 27°C) day to day. I am surprised the greenhouse did not work better. I live, and farm, in the mountains of northern Vermont so I am very familiar with the challenges of a cold climate. I have greenhouses and have used water as thermal mass to temper their temperatures so I had thought your greenhouse with all its tanks would be very successful. I would love to hear more videos looking back at the good and the bad of coral farming in a greenhouse in our cold climate.

I do like having order with my power-plugs, like keeping my heaters next to eachother, pumps etc. But I think that it's a good point of redundancy if you are spreading your heaters and pumps, between power-boards because if one fails, atleast your system is still being heated and some pumps are still keeping the water turned over.
