We are waiting to see the real solution: The Rolling Drawer Box. This will eliminate the need to unstack to gain full access to the bottom storage .

Or an entire light toolbox tower with drawers and attachable or foldable handles to lean the box back down ramps or up steps, lockable.

What all the storage systems need imo is to have the big rolling box be a front opening cabinet or giant drawer that is still weather resistant. That would be the best all around bottom box imo.

@ToughBuilt this is GREAT news, I definitely missed that when I reviewed your online catalog. Thanks for mentioning it 👍🏼 Possibly send me it and other products for review would be greatly appreciated

@ToughBuilt Nice! I look forward to checking it out when it arrives at Lowes. Ive checked out the current released items and they are impressive. But right now aside from your great latching system, none of your current items do anything overly special that would intise me to switch from my current Dewalt boxes. However the lower large drawer box and some of the other future offerings like the 2 dolly systems have me very intrigued. As those would certianly beat my tough system DS Carrier for box transportation imo. And as a professional in the construction trade being able to transport my boxes over rough terrain efficiently is highly desirable.

@redhoward11 I agree the only sad part is this company is very poor. I’m hoping they’re gonna be around in the next year or two.

I believe milwaukee had to make a locking drawer system because the drawers dont latch, they have a friction ring that grabs it, but with enough weight in the drawers it can come flying out.

Milwaukee Packout drawers?? Not the case with mine..
@tundrav84wd10 ай бұрын
I almost bought the Toughbuilt system, but not being able to lock the drawers was a deal breaker. Funny thing is you can lock most other units of theirs, but not the ones with slide out drawers. Went with the Milwaukee and didn't look back.

I have the 3 drawer packout and I have cleats I bought from Amazon. I might buy this tough build and attach it to my packout with the cleats I have

These toughbuilt drawer boxes seem to stack and unstack much easier than the Packouts.

This is probably my favorite component thus far, because a single drawer can go so many places that a taller one cannot. I can see them being used in work benches and desks. The only downside is the lack of a native locking mechanism. But I'm sure a first or third party option with be forthcoming.

One thing to remember about the Dewalt drawers is that they are the only ones that have weather resistance due to their gaskets around the drawer. I know most people dont need this feature but it does keep true to the functional design of the weather resistance of the storage system. And that is why I bought my the Dewalt TS 1.0 in the first place. I do like the Tough Built system, and if I was going to upgrade from my Dewalt system I would consider the Tough Built system for its latching tech and color scheme. The Milwaukee Packout is still probably king for its vast offerings but I can stomach the red or the price really. Hoping that once the Tough Built system is out with most of its offerings in a year or so that its price structure will settle in at a more value oriented price point then Milwaukee. Not holding my breath though lol.

My tough system 1.0 drawers were a frustrating pain in the butt. They could hardly take any weight before sagging, and the plastic parts came apart, making the drawers even harder to open and close. Ugh. The 2.0 didn't seem very tough either.
@duncdunc7611 ай бұрын
@ggrimm79 Ya the version 1.0 drawers did have considerable issues. The 2.0 drawers are a good bit better. Still not perfect but they are weather resistant unlike any other drawers which was the point I was making. Always tradeoffs for whatever system you are choosing. One of my main criteria for a system was weather resistance. That is why I went with the Dewalt Toughsystem 1.0. And I got it before the Milwaukee packout was even available. Today if I was to pick a system it would probably be the Toughbuilt system.

DeWalt is the winner. No bulk And weight. Cheaper too. The depth is best and easy to carry. The yellow sealed gaskets are nice. But I love the look and simplicity of the toughbuilt. It’s 8 inches in height and you only have 1/4” more height on the drawer than one of dewalts. What we need is DeWalt to make a one drawer the height of the 2 drawer and 3 drawer system.

I think ToughBuilt blew an opportunity to make the latches metal and lockable. They're so close to the steel rails. I put python locks through my PackOut towers, but it's kind of a pain, and they have to go through a very small, cuttable piece of plastic. Seeing as tools are one of the most stolen items, a moderately higher level of security would have been appreciated.
@2chipped10 ай бұрын
Very rarely would someone choose a single drawer,since you lose 2 inches between units. I consider this a fail. The packout cabinet doesn't have a drawer,but i can fit my Makita or Metabo tracksw from the front. A single 12 inch drawer would have meade more sense,despite people everywhere have been begging from all munufactorers. I wish i had 80/20 extrusions more readily available, would make all these plastic boxes look like amateurs.

@AKSKSMAN11 ай бұрын
All this video did was sell me more on the Milwaukee side. Milwaukee has 12 points of contact and tough built has 4. All Milwaukee stacks on top of one another while the tough built will need an adapter for the half boxes. Two drawers that don’t lock for $198 or Milwaukee that can lock and $160
@a.i.gdallas358110 ай бұрын
Even milwaukee has issues like you can't put half boxes on tip of their crates securely I mean evey1 shoots and misses from tine to time
