The answer is that the entire game is not an autoscroller- more time than you'd think can be gained and lost on the boss fights. Another way would be to speed up the game and use real time, but that would be completely separate.

Honestly, there is no point on speedrunning in an auto-scroller. Its just but I would rather see the highest scorers since they do more risky stuff than speedrunners
