Touhou 7 - Perfect Cherry Blossom, Normal Run 1cc (Marisa B)

After a long while, I finally managed to get some time to make another 1cc run and what other way to start the new year in KZbin than posting another run. Pay close attention, cause there are some moments where I narrowly escaped death. Since 90% of all other ppl's playthroughs are done with Sakuya A, I decided not to go with the herd and picked a different character instead. In other words, I sticked with Marisa. While I should've gone for Marisa A for obvious reasons that are gonna be shown, I still chose to go with Marisa B and I say I would've totally regretted it if it weren't for her Master Spark covering the last few stages

Non-Focus Shot: Stream Laser
Non-Focus Bomb: Non-Directional Laser

Lowest treshhold for maximum item value
Best Bomb, no doubt
Highest Speed
Cons:
Laser is the main damage dealer, of which it covers only a fraction of the screen when focused
Speed can work in a disadvantage at dense bullet hell situations
Largest Cherry Penalty
Even though Marisa B is seeing some improvements from Touhou 6, it still is hard to play with. Imo, it's the 2nd hardest character to play Touhou 7 with (With Sakuya B being the hardest of them all). Unfocused, nothing really changed. Focused however, the laser is now constant which MIGHT seem more convenient. HOWEVER! The only drawback is that the laser is much smaller, which makes it harder to target bosses and some of the stronger foes. You can clearly see it happening here in this vid
Personally, I would've gone for Marisa A and I'm sure I'm gonna do that next time I wanna run something like this again, but since I had lots of trouble with Stage 4 and onward, I figured I might as well take the trade and go for a better bomb
Coming up next is probably gonna be Touhou 7.5. I'm not sure if I'm gonna do the Extra and Phantasm stage, but I can't help thinking about doing the Phantasm Stage and make a mockery of one of Yukari's spellcards...

I feel you. My biggest vertical scrolling shooter feat was No Missing Strikers 1999 with the F-22 Raptor... on Easy Mode. I don't think I'm ready for Touhou. And I'm _certainly_ not ready for Dodonpachi or any other of those CAVE games.

The secret to clearing Resurrection Butterfly is to meet the red bullets head-on before the split into triples. If you stay near the vertical center of the screen, the gaps will be smaller, but you'll only have to deal with 1/3rd of the bullets. :)

SakuyaB is trash. SakuyaA is WAY better and easier. Also use easy mode, you will be able to still unlock extra stages

@@monopurple SakuB is good if you know how the hell to use her, however, if you don't know how to use her, then she is impossible also, the only reasons to not use Sakuya are 1: horrendously fast focused speed. like, faster than Marisa's 2: you have to deal with Merlin as your prismriver opener 3: you have TERRIBLE cherry gain, meaning you get borders less often

it's funny how marisa B is the only character I can 1cc 6/7 on. I like being really aggressive with the auto collection, and really aggressive on focusing enemies down fast, so I guess she just suits my playstyle.

It doesn't? I would think the most common causes for that would be either not having the English patched game or not having your locale set to Japanese. Touhou games (Especially the fan games) will usually need your system's locale to be set to Japanese. Using Applocale can sometimes work too, but can be a bit more tedious at times

for the last phase of the final boss, I find a way that you can dodge the second part of it, there are 4 small waves of it, if you dodge one of them(whatever which small wave you choose to dodge), you can just stay still and the others will just pass by you.
