Touhou 8: Imperishable Night || (+Guide!) 1CC Normal Barrier Team (Reimu + Yukari)

This is one of the easiest 1CC's I have done so far. Either the game was really forgiving or I am becoming a better Touhou player. Maybe both. This is really fun and really this game really gives off an atmospheric mood, like it really gives off the feeling that you are on a mission trying to take back something stolen from unknown thieves. Overall, I like this game!

Is there a strategy that involves killing lots of Familiars? Especially on Boss Fights, I just can't deal with any of them with "just dodge" when being overwhelmed by the Familiar's bullets. Killing 2 or 3 seems to be never enough, especially Keine. Is there a way to strategize for this? The only thing I can think of is to bomb everything, both Spell and Non-spell. Of which it eventually costs me because I would consume a life to get more bombs and do it all over again.

There is a strategy involved with them at least for me. For the stage fairies, simply killing the source fairy will end the familiars. When I think of familiar spam, I think of IN stage 5. Dealing with the fairies with orbiting familiars is a pain to do with the human character, so your best option is to use the youkai character to disable the familiars hit boxes allowing you to kill the fairy easily, which will also remove the familiars orbiting the now dead fairy. For Keine specifically, yeah I agree that it is never enough and you can still die. For the first spell, don’t try to prioritize too much on killing the familiars. You won’t destroy them all anyways and it’s better to use your youkai character for better dodging. The rest of her spellcards really forced me to play the youkai side and it feels like it was intended for you to always use the youkai side. If you need to bomb anyways, don’t get hit and use the 2-cost bomb, it’s better to use 2 bombs for more invincibility frames. Hope this helps!

Press the left shift key to switch between characters. The character that uses shift is usually slower which helps with control.

Oh I used a patch from a patching software called thcrap that changes the art to art by Dairi. If you got touhou 8 from Moriyashrine.org, thcrap should come with the game already

An art tutorial? I can’t draw art and this isn’t my own art. I downloaded a patch using thcrap that uses art by Dairi. There should be a guide on the thcrap website on how to install patches that’ll explain better than me.
