The game after these character were introduced we got a character whos power is killing you. And a character that can alter any border/ line, essentially making her able to tamper with anything (border between life and death, reality and illusion, lies and truth, the sky is the limit here) Then we got like... At least 3 immortal characters. Also a character that can alter history. Also Reimu, the main character has the ability to not be affected by whatever bullshit is thrown her way. All in all there's little wonder these girls decide who the strongest one is based on who can make the prettiest pattern of bullets.

Me:Finished the final boss first try due to gem hording after figuring out they buff you, and using the healing one in conjunction with 1000 daggers to exploit I-Frames for easy grazing to constantly heal and recharge MP

Well, Luna Nights seems to be like an accessible entry point to the series despite not being actually canon, so it stands to reason it’ll give you a fairly vanilla experience showing off all the cool iconic characters you might hear about, it’s no surprise Sakuya, Meiling, Marisa, Patchouli, Remilia and Flandre are the main characters this game chooses to show, it’ll be very random if a side character got the spotlight then you went to try the main series and the characters you saw in this cool game are rather insignificant

I think they missed the opportunity to reimagine the spell cards as boss phases (there was master spark...), instead of just looping the attacks. Granted it would have been a lot more work so I can understand why. Also I guess Flan can’t really use Nitori’s spells.

the main difference is that if you sold the gems, you don't have them anymore. this isn't a flan specific thing, but it makes any fight a bit harder. It's also implied flan collected most of the gems on her own.
