Byakuren Hijiri! She's up there as one my top 10 touhou characters! She's a Buddhist Saint. She started off as a monk and followed her brother's Buddhist teachings. When her brother passed away, the thought of death loomed on her and stuck. In her fear, she dabbled in Dark Magicks to extend her life and give herself incredible youth and strength. She built a temple in her brother's name, the Myouren Temple, in three days! (Hence why she's called Youkai Jesus). She welcomed both humans and youkai to uphold the teachings of Buddha and honor her brother. However, the humans disliked her for allowing youkai to freely roam about on her temple grounds and felt disgust when they heard she dabbled in the Dark Arts. She was sealed away in Hokkai, the border of Makai, the demon realm. The plot of Touhou 12, Unidentified Fantastic Object, was because the rise of the Palenquin a floating shrine launched by a geyser from the events of the previous game, dedicated to Byakuren with her most loyal disciples, each one having a sort-of salvation story when they encountered Byakuren(further enhancing her Jesus parallel). It has come to everyone's attention that someone was tampering with the border between Makai and Gensokyo. Byakuren's disciples were trying to unseal her from Hokkai... and they were successful! Canonically, Byakuren is a relatively nice person and only really wants "what's good for you." Kinda like a doting mother. She's fairly strict on how she runs her temple. And DOES NOT allow alcoholic beverages IN her temple and its vicinity. She will insist in giving you training for physical wellness. She disapproves any other teaching, and most especially against Taoism. But she's rarely violent against any other fate. Unless it's Taoism, she's willing to fisticuffs for it.

In the Touhou series, there is fighting games, named with the decimal .5 (7.5 , 10.5 , 13.5 , 14.5 , 15.5 ) In those games, after the 12 when she appears, Byakuren is a playable character, and her ultimate move is to roll over her opposent with her bike. I found Turbo Granny to be the most 'normal' ultimate move of these game as the other characters use legends or folk creatures ... literally.

If you are wondering about the weird goldfish plant at 4:35, it from a Dark Comedy Anime call Hozuki's Coolheadedness, which is about Japanese Hell. Give the Anime a try, it very funny and informative about Japanese Folklore and how Japanese Hell differs from Western Hell.

Oh yes, hijiri is a character who is actually nice, though the way she runs the temple is odd. Kyoko describes it well. But everyone has limits to things, like patience, and yes hijiri (byakuren) is strong and quite speedy. Oh she also owns a motorcycle. For every character look up touhou 12 or the Myoren temple. Side note I always struggle with their spelling sad yes but I just do....

Dont know if anyone already done this. But, memories of phantasm new episode has just been released a few days ago. For the dubbed and subbed version is in the OVJM channel. While the original version (also subbed but not dubbed) is in manpuku jinja official channel.

Hi ! I'm new here, well i check the comments and i see no one talking about the "genis" like you say. Well his name is Unzan, he Ichirin's partener and protector, he also a yokai named Nyuudo. He can grow up anytime and gives bigs punchs. But don't worry about him, he also too pretty shy and he talked only with Ichirin but chillout, he don't attack if you don't make him mad
