Touhou: Phantasm Romance | Another Mode 1cc (Extra 4), ReimuA 【幻想浪漫紀行】

The precursor to Phantasmagoria Trues, played on ver. 2.5plus.
Managed to barely clear despite only having 1 death before the Extra 4 stage, Reimu is extremely nasty. Very very good game despite the fact it was completely remade later on, I recommend checking this game out.
Extra 3 and 4 act as true final levels, and thus begin after stage 6. They are unlocked if you have at least 3600 point items collected, and at least 3 lives remaining at the end of the stage 6 boss. Either stage can be chosen after stage 6, but they cannot both be accessed in the same run.
Shoutouts to HakanaiBlue for reuploading his copy of the game, all downloads I could find were missing some of the music tracks as well as the HUD (although, I'm not too sure if the HUD is official).

Don't think the HUD is official - I have what I believe are the original distributions (archive names "th3_8610.zip", "th3_8611.zip", labeled inside as two parts that should be combined) and they did not include a custom UI frame, nor were they distributed with any shottypes (the FAQ in the packaged readme has an entry about the default white danmakufu sprites being hard to see on Extra3, which sort of also supports this). For years on and off I have been trying to record an "exhibition" replay of the Reimu fight that I was personally satisfied with (NMNB until final card, all patterns dodged as designed without exploits, grazeclears disabled) and have been unable to do so, but maybe I should just lower my standards a bit. Trivia: many of Reimu's nonspells and her second spellcard are direct references to her patterns in Shuusou Gyoku's Extra stage.

I love this game. But I quit playing over 10 years ago cuz I got a new pc, and was n ever able to figure out how to play it with either a tiny window, or full screen, on a monitor that my periphial vision can't handle! bawww... up-vote though for showcasing something I love.

Here's an old vid of mine 14 years ago. it was my 2nd 1cc I think, certainly not my best back then: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnnSc6qjmKaBaqs I was never a mega pro or whatever, but I was proud I had the best phantasm romance score back then among even the best like Jaimers, shadow-...something, forgot their name. They were certainly better Touhou/shmup gamers than me, but they invested more effort into significantly more games than I, and this is the one they apparently they gave up and let me have =P. My video didn't showcase my 'win' video, it was just one I had available, I TRIED to record my win video like 4 times and it's been so long, something wrong happened every time. Nobody claimed I cheated though, and in case anyone suspects I did, meh. I already admit they were better and probably could whoop me if they actually tried to so whatever. no loss for me. I did upload the replay data on shrinemaiden forums back then, but honestly, while I loved the community back then, when gamergate happened, I sorta vamoosed because everyone there jumped on the 'gamers are toxic wah-men haters' bandwagon and I just didn't want to alienate myself with them, so I kinda bailed. I don't know what they were thinking. Actual gamers of that caliber rarely sided with the professional racism/sexism grifters, but that's what they did... Sorry for the rant. give me a shot if you're interested in a phantasm romance competition buddy. I don't know if I'm remotely capable anymore, but I'm a fast learner and I can get up to speed again if I can get it working at all anymore, I think. Still never fixed the mini or full screen thing, if you have advice I'll accept it.

@@Ghalion666 do you use vpatch? that may fix your screen issue

@@yeashie its been awhile but if thats the thing that turns vsync off to be rid of input lag yes. After losing the input lag you cant ever go back lol

@@Ghalion666 the best thing i can think of is to try tampering with the x and y settings under the vpatch config file to see if you can fix the screen thing

@@Ghalion666 You can use a program called sizer to resize the window to arbitrary dimensions and it works with vpatch.
