I went, I was there. It's vibrant in person, it's expansive. It's truly one of a kind. I highly suggest going for everyone! WORTH THE PRICE OF ADMISSION

The place I chose to stand for most of the cycle of images in Room 3 is basicaly where the people are sitting on the bench at 7:07. From there you can see all three pillars, most of the images around the room and it is great place to be able to turn around for different perspectives of everything going on. It was nice how it became my space and most everyone stayed away for a certain distance. I really liked the music they played to go with the images. The almond blossoms blowing was magnificent - seen at 4:47 - 5:31 in the video.

I’d much rather go to the deYoung and see the paintings in real life. Tickets are $49.50 plus ticket fees, is it worth it?

Could you please tell me what the creator/producer is? I want to go to a 'good one' I've been told to research and make sure....the on3 near me in Charleston SC is produced created by Paquin.

3:39 - Actually it is from Vincent's sister-in-law Johanna talking about Vincent and Theo (her husband) looking at little Vincent-Willem. I really liked the Beyond Van Gogh experience - saw it in Buffalo, NY. I have seen several of Van Gogh's original works, almost every movie or documentary about him and read several books about him and some of his letters. The exibit was a nice introduction for young people or adults not familiar with VanGogh, and the third room was awesome where different images of his work would appear and melt and move and appear on the floor and walls like you were standing within the paintings. The onlyl thing I didn't like were the crowds, but I hate any type of crowd. And was disappointed when I wanted to buy a couple of mementos and found out they did not take cash!!! I'm very careful about using my credit card - too easy for people to steal and too easy to over spend. While I enjoyed it I did not think it was worth the $50+ I spent for one ticket.

Also, loved watching the reaction of the little children to the images in the 3rd room ( what you see here). Also, some of the quotes are recited in French, but Van Gogh spoke Dutch and was fluent in French, English and German.

The price tag to see this seems steep and the colors are not as vibrant as I would have thought they would be
@jamespetkwitz87373 жыл бұрын
To be honest you are never going to tell how vibrant the colors are when the video was shot with a phone, compressed down for KZbin, played back on a phone or a computer screen, sis later at whatever bitrate or resolution it defaults to

@@ottawagirl7052 I saw it this last weekend... Is it cool? Yes! Is it worth the price? Depends.. The room is brighter and more vivid than the video, but not like going to the Dolby cinema theater at an AMC theater. But as a person that has worked in AV for events like this.. the setup is impressive. It's a short experience. If it not crowded. You are in and out in an hour if you are slow. The main room is 40 minutes. I bought the "flexible tickets" which means I have a bigger window of time to show up. Which was nice. But adds to the cost. It was a cool day date.. I like the looks of the other Van Gough experience a bit more. But that not for a couple months. Overall I'd give it an 7.5 out of 10. A bit pricey. And not a hugely overwhelming experience. But cool. I would recommend hanging out toward the middle of the room. Standing next to the walls, you will notice the pixels of the projector a bit more

ive worked on this, and i can tell you that it's more vivid in real life and we didnt change any color in production....but ... like any projection, problem is, the projectors. it could wash the colors sometimes..
