There have been some questions about the Tour de Fleece in the Facebook group. I thought I'd answer them here and invite non-spinners to join us! Join me on Facebook: / 430116437830341

As someone who doesn't Facebook, I appreciate you keeping content here on KZbin. I am just working on what I currently have on the wheel since I have limited bobbins.

I appreciate so much that you share this craft with us on KZbin. I am not a Facebook person really. It's too distracting and i have enough keeping up with my KZbin channels. You have made me so interested in learning about fibers and spinning. I look forward to watching your previous videos for education. Thank you so much.

I think it's really cool that you are inviting fiber/crafting enthusiasts of all types to join in TDF! I began spinning on a drop spindle 2 years ago and really enjoy it. Two weeks ago I purchased my first wheel and have fallen down the spinning rabbit hole!!! Love your podcast - it's really helped me as I get used to my wheel and all the different techniques, etc.

I'm not on FB so I can't join your group there, but I'm very grateful for your wonderful podcast, Stephanie. I've been working on a vest for myself (my first adult-sized garment), and you've encouraged me to get it finished. B-)

I could set your second piece of roving, the cream, green, pink etc, on my coffee table to look at every day. The colours are beautiful. 😊

I don't spin, but really curious to see it done! Haven't had time to watch your older video's since I found you recently, so seeing a live spinning session would be fun! My birthday is the day after yours :-)

Awesome! I just moved to a new state and all my craft things have been packed. I'm slowly unpacking and rediscovering projects. I can't wait to pick them up and join you. Thank you

Cool, I don't spin but as an avid crochet and knit fiend (want to learn weaving) and yarn/ fiber enthusiast I can't wait to learn about spinning.

Have not seen wool spun. It will be interesting to see how wool is produced in sort of reverse - finished product to beginning steps. LOL! Can you see I was a city girl?

I have a hat that has to be done be the 13th. Hopefully, I will be able to get back to my wheel or maybe knit a pir of socks instead. Not sure what I want to do yet.

Stephanie, Since I am a newcomer to your channel would you please explain a bit more about your Tour de Fleece, what are the guidelines and timeline? On another note, my (most) preferred fiber art is knitting but I am interested in learning how to spin with a drop spindle__do you have any videos on the subject and/or how to choose one and best places to find them? I am in Southern CA with limited opportunity to attend fiber festivals. Thank you for your response. 🐑😺

I'm also a new sub, and am wondering the same about the Tour de Fleece. As for drop spindles, people say the Ashford drop spindle is a good starter. You can get one from woolery.com. If you can find a physical store that sells spindles ask if you can give the a test, or if they can do a demonstration. The smoother the spin, and longer it spins, the better. I bought a spindle from the Cascade Spindle Company called Little Si, it spins like a dream! They have a website, but say nothing about shipping (I bought mine in store), but you could inquire.

Hi Stephanie, I’d love to do tourdefleece but I don’t do Facebook, and now I don’t do Ravelry so I’m not sure how to join in. I also am a new spinner, and although I have a wheel on the way to me ,I have only drop spindles. Maybe next year.

I want to join your group for TdF, asked to join this morning and have not yet been accepted, is it too late? Your birthday is my half birthday, which I prefer to celebrate rather than January--which is usually cold; and everyone, myself included, are a wee bit tried of celebrations.
