I was driving across Wyoming last night on I-80 and passed Wamsutter around 9:20 PM MST. Justinas was around 10 miles past Wamsutter and Ulrich maybe had 15 miles to it when I passed by. The winds were crazy! The vehicle was getting blown around with gusts up to 40 mph blowing from the south. I could only imagine the misery the racers were going through with that headwind!

The Place is between Union Pass and Pinedale. It’s run by a friend of the great JayP so definitely give it a try if you’re out there.

Prediction for Day 8: Laurens will spend the night in Atlantic City and will cross through the Basin and into Colorado tomorrow. He will arrive late at Brush Mountain lodge and sleep there. Justinas will push through to Brush Mountain (maybe a snack or Power Nap in Savery). He will arrive at Kristin’s before noon, and only wash clothes, shower, have a pizza and press on to Steamboat Springs maybe for a bike shop and for a motel. Uba will sleep his usual 3,5 to 5 hours in Warmsutter and start again in the middle of the night. He will also be at Brush Mountain Lodge to early to sleep and push on after a pit stop. He will catch a hotel in steamboat springs as well, but he might be to late for the bikeshop resulting either in a long nights sleep or he will postpone having his bike check until Silverthorne or even Salida.

Seems like I’m off regarding Laurens. He didn’t stop in Atlantic City; he napped at South Pass for an hour. If he pushes through he can be in Warmsutter around noon and won’t sleep their either. But I still predict he will stay at Brush Mountain Lodge for the night and not pushing through to steamboat springs. Or he could not find water that late in Atlantic City and is going for Diagnus Well and camps there?

Lived in Idaho, locals say it kind of like “Tow ga dee pass”, they also say “Du boys” for Dubois 😅

Yeah , love the coverage and superb effort just hoping all contenders are past the pass tomorrow. Hearing your phonetic go at it is exacerbating cringes, and ticks. I never knew I had.😊 Togwotee Pass (pronounced TOH-guh-tee)

Looks like three riders took a wrong turn. Maybe the easiest way to Helena and scratch the race? That is a bummer.

It would be cool to see this be a month long event. Truly something to behold, this route is insane.

Ullrich always gives a great report and a sense of humour! The Basin looks soul destroying! I don’t know how the slower riders get through it specially as you’re not allowed to do a chainy.Good to see not many have scratched. It’s probably more effort to scratch than carrying on to the finish 😂
@stuartdilts27293 ай бұрын
From what I've seen, people taking the route recreationally do it in two to three days, and wait for better conditions if it rains. There are few places to get water, but you need to time it right if you don't want to dry camp. Advanced planning seems to make it much easier.

Any word from Dan Connell? No updates on his scratch. Also looks like Liam Yates is back riding - an earlier video mentioned he had scratched.

Thanks again Josh for another update. Any word on what's ahead in New Mexico in regards to fires? I think from what I have seen, the riders should be undeterred. But, I haven't studied it that hard...yet.
