This is really the best track they could have chosen for the final city track. My first impression when playing it was "Wow, that is the earliest blue shell I have ever seen." But my SECOND impression was that this track is absolutely amazing, and the music definitely plays a huge part in this. The biggest improvement over the Tour version is just how much more there is going on. With the live instruments, there is just so much depth. I think this is easily an S tier song, and what impresses me the most is that it is one of the best city themes while also being very true to this city's music. A lot of the most popular city themes (Vancouver, Sydney, Singapore) feel closer to traditional Mario Kart music, but this song isn't really like that.

Literally both times I played this track I got blue shelled within 30 seconds, the CPUs pulled it the first moment they possible could and immediately used it. I wonder if it is because its in the spiny (blue shell) cup? That would be a really funny easter egg if its real.

I would have loved to see Casablanca/Dar el-Beida, Ushuaia, Nairobi, Monterrey, Warsaw, Tirana, or Rio de Janeiro, but it's cool in the end I guess. The western eurocentrism was insane in this game, and I feel bad for the people who didn't get represented.

My biggest flaw with most city tracks is that they are generally annoying to drive in. especially london loop has many awkward turns that are just way too sharp and come out of nowhere. there's no balance. But this track felt so easy to follow. it never went overboard with the turns and the changes. which allowed for me to really get immersed in the stage and the music

Now my favorite Tour track due to both its music and how much is jam packed within Madrid. You have the giant football field, the art museum, train stations, and huge pillars and fountains. While they feel sort of compact together, their placement are just right. The music itself needs no introduction or criticisms and a huge improvement over Tour’s MIDI song.
