Today we take a tour of an amazing rig to live and travel in, an A-Liner. These beauties have nearly all the advantages of a pop-up trailer, but none of the disadvantages.

Great setup especially for a man and his dog. I keep going between something like this or a Casita. The older I get the less I want except for solitude and peace.

Love my Aliner 10’ rig. No dormers, no micro or toilet (use a bucket loo), cabinets instead of dinette (use a sm. collapsible chair & lap tray). Don’t use the water system either (use wipes or tub with Bonners & washcloth, & store water in tow v. ), keep bed smaller also, covered sink with a plastic cutting board. Tons of storage in stacked small plastic tubs). I’m short so no height issue. Love the hard sided safety feature & portability.

An easy solution to helping keep it warm in cold weather, take 2 shower rods and put across the walls about 6.5 feet tall then drape a wool blanket over them to make a temporary lower ceiling. It reduces the amount of air space that needs warming. We end up heating the entire space when we could easily make the space smaller. Think 4 poster beds - our ancestors figured all this out a long time ago. :) . Nice Aliner. They are near the top of my list.

I guess if one really wanted to have more storage, an easy way would be to get those 3-drawer (or as many as one wanted/needed) plastic units. Since they are not heavy, they could be put on the floor when collapsing the trailer, and when open they could be popped on top of the counters.

I had an over the can truck camper. I was fixing it up and only put a couple hundred dollars into when it was smashed by a semi. *story 3a.m we were sleeping when we heard a loud crash and the house shake. We laid there thinking a storm was coming. But several minutes later we heard knocking. I stayed up stairs locked and yup, loaded. ( we live in the country) anyhow my husband hollered up to call 911. The trucker survived going airborne 2 times before hitting the side of my foundation of an older barn where my camper was. A huge tree had fallen and at night the young guy goes pretty fast to make it through the city before work traffic. So he went Airborne as he hit the large tree, the cab and trailer Jack knifed in the air hit my embankment sending it into the air and smashing through my barn. They didn't have the proper insurance. They only came back to fix the ground, and driveway and only gave me 500.00 for my camper. They became very rude to my husband. And so my barn never was fixed nor cleaned up. At the time the mom was grateful that her son survived. But the dad and grandfather was angry. Yucky kind of people to deal with.

I am thinking about getting the Airline Titanium 10 footer. It is suppose to be built for more off road. I have found myself on dirt roads that start to get rough and regular RVs could not handle. I would have to go to a dealer to see if that is true or my hype. Right now I have a Runaway, which is okay for some rough patches, but I am growing tired of the small size. These teardrop designs do not allow for standing up.

Richard, my Micro RV would get pretty claustrophobic without my canopy. Do you also have a large standup tent/canopy like the Clam Shell I use? @@ricardostravels3265 I have a 10X10 canopy. Its great but has to be taken down in heavy wind. For example, I was on a trip where the winds where 40 plus miles per hour for 2 days. Thus, I was stuck in a small trailer laying down for most of that time. I do admit that the canopy matches well with my trailer, of which the Aliner has that problem.
@ricardostravels3265

Sorry to hear that @@minirunt, what kind of canopy do you have. I see other tents and canopies blown down all the time, although I have never had any problems with my canopy "even in 40 mph winds and driving rain". Yes, I have to stake it down when the forecast calls for high winds, although most of the time I don't even stake it down completely. You can find my canopy under the ☆ Camp Furniture section within the description of my videos. Now it's going to be interesting to see if you have the same one.

@@ricardostravels3265 About a midgrade canopy I bought on Amazon. I would be concerned if I kept a canopy up in anything highter than 30mph winds. Even if staked. I was once at a campsite and an RV had one out and the wind was gusting about 30-50 mph when a gust suddenly twisted it, causing the frame to fail. Rule: if thunderclouds are coming be prepared for sudden gust. Secure even thing outside the trailer and take down awnings canopys. It should be noted that another RV nearby also got its attached roll out canopy torn off. That created major damage to his RV. I might chance it at higher winds, but why take the risk.

@@ricardostravels3265 I have the Crown Shades Outdoor Pop up Portable Shelter. I also go three sides with it, so I could, if wanted enclose it/shelter. I mostly just park the trailer on one side and then enlose the other sides, as needed.

Stability is fine. If concerned during extreme winds hook up vehicle. Setting up can be an issue, there are various options to assist you. Such as lines, poles, etc. You can purchase kits too. Inside stabilizer rod/s can be used. Center them at the Apex on the "a"sides. They are good defense against bears pushing them in...

How water tight do these stay over time , they look like a great lil 1 man or cpl rig but I’d be afraid of rain over time

Check out slimpotatohead video's. His is at least 3 years old and he has taking it ever where. I guess on perspective is how long would a cheap class c keep. Like Bob always said these rigs were not made for extended or full time living. The only rigs I would say you can depend on over time. Would be a Lazy Daze,Born Free,or a Chinook. Or a fiberglass camper like a Escape, Bigfoot, Casita, scamp, etc. Maybe even a cargo trailer. Not speaking from experience. Just from ALOT of research.

They don't leak due to design. However, wind driven rain might work it's way in a bit. The mfr. sells a regasketing kit for worn seals.

They actually hold up quite well as far as rain, although the seals alone the top edges break down over time and allow heat out and airflow in. That's why so many A-Liner owners use pool noodles or pipe insulation to solve the seal issue.

Tip : Good hot showers at the truck stops. Most drivers are more than happy to give you a shower ticket.

I would like to know what type of CPAP he uses on 12 volt, or how he keeps it available to use if it needs 110.

My CPAP was using a transformer to convert 120 AC to 12 VDC. I googled the brand, mine is Respironics, and went their accessories page and found that actually offered the DC cigarette lighter power cord. It was pricey but it keeps me from having to take my DC to AC and then back to DC at the machine.

It is a Philips Respironics Dreamstation Auto CPAP Hom DOM The output of the 110 volt adapter is 12 volts DC. It was easy to buy an adapter off of Amazon. So the cord is basically just a 12v extension cord with the correct plug for my unit. Each person who want to accomplish this would have to research the power requirements for their individual CPCP, the extension cord I bought from Amazon was $20 and the factory model of the exact same cord was $60.

FYI... a good portable option for the CPAP is the Jackery 500 - it has been tested to run a CPAP with everything running for 8 hours.
