Good Morning Reptile Army and happy Friday! Hope you all are going to have a banger of a weekend! As always we are going to have lots of fun this weekend here at the Reptarium! Also have a cool Podcast guest tomorrow. He is a reptile guy and also the is the manager for the major Detroit Airport here. So should be an interesting interview getting to know both worlds he lives. And of course we will be taking your questions and talk a lot about reptiles! Hope you enjoyed all my giant monitors! Let me know if you like this style of just rolling and filming. I had fun doing it and maybe once in a while can do a video like this for you guys? Just let me know what you think! Also what is your favorite of the monitors we keep? Thanks for all your support! Love you guys! Brian

When I lived in Chinchilla in Queensland most mornings you could go outside to see Goannas walking up the middle of the road. Or hanging off the side of someone's house. My Mum used to work at the old people's home and quite often when she was outside hanging out washing they would be hanging around looking for food. Normally after the chickens and hens in the run. Was always mesmerized by them and how they were. They saw us as intruders but soon realised if they didn't see us around then that was a good opportunity to go after eggs in the chook house and chicks for a quick snack

Ok, this is my favorite video you’ve done because Monitors are, to me, the pinnacle of reptiles. They’re so smart and absolutely gorgeous! There’s nothing more beautiful than a Bells Phase Lace Monitor! Tom Crutchfield’s work with Croc Monitors is epic! He’s in a class by himself when it comes to Croc Monitors and I’m going to be able to see them!!! In person!! I can’t explain how excited I am!🦎🦎

I think that Varanus dumerilii makes a great pet. I’ve been keeping Ackies and Timor monitors for a little over four years and the Dumeril’s Montitor was the first medium sized monitor I ever got. He’s doing great, and they only need about a 10x5x7, so a relatively reasonable enclosure when compared to other monitor lizards. With some experience and the means to give them everything they need, they make a great addition to an ever expanding collection. I think you should add one to the Reptarium.

I wanted to point off all Rock Monitors: Savannah, Sulfur,Black Throats,White Throats and Morphs all give off a pheromones smell during mating season(Waffles,Pancakes,Syrup,Honey, pumice, Marmalade scents is found in the scent secretion glands in all guana species why you ask . I have no idea, but this what attracts things like bee's,wasp, any predatory flying insect );..

There is 28 known species of "goannas"here in Australia and would be very hard to choose my favourite, perenties are definitely a candidate but i would have to say I'm leaning towards Gould's Goana a.k.a the sand monitor,a voracious hunter that is not only able to eat our most venomous snakes,it is seemingly immune to their venom 👍👍👍😊🇦🇺

Kimberly rocks are stunning stunning goannas and so is green tree goannas! Our Australian goies/monitors are best in the world! But my favourite is the Kimberly rocks! They are small but just stunning colors and they look like all the aboriginal rock paintings that they did thousands of years ago! Maybe that's why they named them Kimberly rocks from all the thousands of years old aboriginal paintings on rock of monitors! That's special! Great video!!! Cheers from ozz

Nice collection! Nile monitors are so different when training. They aren't afraid of you like other monitors. They just hate everybody. They can be tamed but you don't have the time needed since you have so many other animals. Mine got to where he would climb onto my arm to come out, chill out on my chest and shoulder and watch TV. He only accepted back rubs and petting if he was in water. He loved swimming so tolerated humans during his swim. He loved to tail whip, hiss and bite anybody that reached to pet him while he was out. He tolerated me and hated everyone else. That's with hours a day spent with him.
