This Marine is surrounded by tradition, yet tradition gets broken every year. The females are now becoming sacrifices to the War gods. This is no longer the true Marine Corps. They should change the name to US Political Drone Corps. Generals are political whimps with no backbone. Marines of the past were known for their backbone which is a highly motivated traditional enlisted man who learned through leadership. Leadership is out to get enriched while leaving the enlisted without. I hate what has happened to my Marine Corps. Honor has been replaced by corruption ! At ease, Maggot !

As a former active duty Marine who has been inside that house before I must say please stop bad mouthing the family that lives there. It is like the White House in that it is a living breathing museum in addition to a residence. I also am a Camp Lejuene Toxic Water survivor but I don't begrudge the current residence for what has happened in the past. I suspect that any of the old building in D.C. have the same issues. Also remember that when the British burn D.C. in the War of 1812 they spared the Marine Barracks at 8th & I so you could say they are the oldest original building in D.C.

Touring the valorously historic home of the Marine Corps Commandants, guided by this very noble, albeit a little nervous, Marine was an honor and a privilege for me. As the proud daughter of a retired United States Marine and Vietnam veteran, I really enjoyed learning about the rich history behind the Commandants home, and I especially loved all of the gallantly hung portraits honoring the Marine Corps former Commandants. I've always considered the fact that I was raised as a "Marine Corps Brat" to be a badge of honor, and Semper Fidelis is proudly ingrained in my life, in my heart and in my cherished memories of my Father.
