And - really great houses there. Very few cookie cutter houses. Even aside from the mansions, which are incredible, the moderate sized houses are well built and have many unique features, beautiful fireplaces, built in bookshelves, hardwood and marble floors etc. - like there was a unwritten rule that everything had to be top quality.

Good tip. The house owner had a small stake in the ship but never saw it. He scheduled for his boys and daughter in law to return to the states from France on it but only the female survived. A few years ago, the new owners, the First Korean Church of NY rented it to Victoria Secret to shoot their yearly catalog in there. I was told the models were not impressed. This is a church I could get behind.

The Lawrence Brothers lived on the same street as Adam F Goldberg when they were young, before Joey got Blossom and the family moved to LA . They are Originally from Jenkintown.

The IHOP used to be the hangout spot in that town 20 plus years ago. It was a bunch of weirdos and I remember they used to play vampire the masquerade.

I live on the city border so Jenkintown is right there for me. I go out there quite often. There are many more restaurants than you showed as well as a medical MJ facility and a few fitness clubs. I am considering moving out there. For me it would be a dream come true to be in a big home and quiet neighborhood. Cosby has a house/mansion in Elkins Park which is not far but it is not his main house/mansion. He uses it for his visits to Philly and normally he has family living there. At one point Cosby was on the Board of Directors at Temple so he had plenty of business activities here. His main residence is a really huge mansion in Amherst MA. He really got himself in a jam befriending that woman at Temple. It turns out that she doesn't even like men. No wonder he had to drug her ...

First i've heard of the Goldbergs. Nice town! Applebees sucks, Last time when my parents were alive a decade ago took our parents to an applebees , The staff was hazing our server and kept taking or hijacking her orders off the heat lamp bar. We were not amused. never will be back. First time ever saw a WaWa was over 50 years ago visiting my cousins in Levittown PA. Asked WTF is a WaWa and why the weird ass name. They had the duck with the broken neck logo back then so i figured it was Indian for "you broke the ducks neck" , They were like a 7-11 back then. They are demolishing all the old stores and building pumpers. They far outnumber 7-11s here in NJ and 7-11 are starting to fade and taking up space in older strip mall spaces.

Nice video Cap! Very familiar with that area. I grew up in Willow Grove and drove past that theater all the time. Never saw a show there though. Used to hit up the Ihop down the street after a night of clubbing in the city. Hey...no bad talkin' Wawa. Their new Peppermint Bark cream smoothie is yummy. BTW, I also hate Applebees. 🤢😂

That Applebees is the worst because of the North Philly folk thinking it's fine dining and being rude and demanding. Add Outback to that list. I loved your comment. IHOP staff put up with the most. Dohn from that WaWa was a legend. He treated me better than my own father. Ha.

Bill Cosby is from ELKINS PARK. You're really not in Jenkintown anymore... that's Baderwood. That shopping center isn't in Jenkintown. Jtown is rather small. Only about `1 square mile or maybe 2.

The borough of Jenkintown is small but the postal address and zip code extends into much more extensive Abington township. And the adjoining area known as Rydal has some luxurious homes that would not be out of place in Beverly Hills. And Cosby’s house is in nearby Elkins Park (where I live), don’t know where the heck he got “Elkins Circle” (?). On Mad Men one of the women characters was from Elkins Park.

@@radamik I live right near you. City boarder of Rockledge/Jenkintown/Philly (Fox Chase) Rydal has some beautiful homes. I think Cosby is considered more of Wyncote. Not that it matters. All the same. I love the small borough of Jenkintown, by Glenside. Those homes on the side of Abington Friends school are stunning.

Years ago a contemporary house in Rydal was for sale and the description in the paper (Philly Inquirer) said it had a “music room with French imported tile.” Assume it may have been an alcove off the living room where the grand piano was (!!!). Back when Philly was considered a “world class city” (not sure when that ended) Jenkintown, Elkins Park, and Rydal were among the top suburban areas in the entire country, comparable to the North Shore of Chicago, Westchester County in New York, Grosse Pointe near Detroit, River Oaks in Houston etc.

When filming this, the show was literally getting cancelled. Unknowingly, when they aired the Willow Grove Mall Spencer's episode, it closed the next day. I hope to run in to you some day. I think I'm louder.
