@@kellyhoernig Thank you! I am currently binge-watching your Playlist. In one you mentioned not painting bold colors. If I may make a suggestion...I painted a toucan, and my son said, " They're not that color". Oh yes they are!! 😁

Beautiful sketches! I love your work and your soft color palette. Have you heard of the handmade watercolor company called ocean paper? Their KZbin channel is The Ocean Paper. It is handmade in Hawaii. I just recently found them and I must say that I am so in love with them. They are very opaque but the colors are all very muted and beautiful! My birthday is today and I ordered some. They are very expensive so I hope I won’t be disappointed. Opal and Mint KZbin channel has some videos about them too. I know that you will love the colors! I’m just wondering if you’ve heard of them or if you own any. I can hardly wait until they arrive!

Happy Birthday! Thank you for the recommendation of Ocean Paper. I do have one of their sets (Kelp & Urchin) and love the colorations of it as well. Just haven't had time to play with it and see how it works with other brands. Which sets did you order?

Thank you for the birthday wishes! I would love to know how the paint reacts with your other paints also. My plan is to just use them primarily the way they are. They are so beautiful as is that I don’t really see the need to mix a lot. I want to use it to paint simple things like Christmas tags for my grandchildren’s Christmas gifts, and birthday cards for my kids and grandkids. Simple stuff like that. I use my Daniel Smith paints for landscapes and things that I want granulation and texture to have. I’m a huge fan of the primateks for my rocks, trees, mountains, cliffs, seashells, old buildings, metal, etc. etc. I was blessed with an abundance of money for my birthday so I ordered the biggest Ocean Spray set ~ the “Around the World” set. It should give me a great variety. I’m so excited and really anticipate its arrival. I don’t know how long it takes things to ship from Hawaii to the main land. 😁😁 Thank you for your response!

I love this examples of your journals and drawings and the fact that we don’t have to make it so hard. I do love the small watercolor journals because they are something I will probably be able to get through. I am sure I will not get through six in one year, but hey, that’s a goal, right I am going to start collecting little bits and bobs to start using for this specific exercise. Because I definitely need more brush time under my belt.
