My wife and I drove around this development during the Fourth of July weekend. Granted, it was the Fourth of July, and maybe that fact contributed to my impression; River Island looked like a massive Walmart parking lot jammed with enormous box-like storage units separated by only an arm’s length and cars parked in driveways and on the streets. My impression was that there were multiple families, multi-generations living in each house, or each house was a boarding house. Nobody uses their garage as a garage. The garage is either living quarters or storage for junk that couldn’t be squeezed into the massive department store-sized homes. The landscaping was like what you see in a strip mall, supermarket parking lot. I was disappointed and kind of grossed out. I’ll try one more time.

the timeis now to get into river islands community in my opinion their master plan for Lathrop is massive and they want tons of restaurants over looking the water and shopping etc. should be in place completed by 2025.
