Love this instrument and your demonstration is impeccable! I have to agree with previous post about price though. I’m glad I purchased the sample set I have at $250 about 10 years ago. As a novice cost is prohibitive.

I just realized that all these samplesets you do stop tours of are like REALLY EXPENSIVE I am blown at how you can get each and every one of them including that recording process from what I know takes forever so real big WOW to you and everyone who does stop tours of samplesets etc

Thank you so much for watching, Alain! I love this set aswell! If I would have to choose from the sets I use most often it would definitely be Rotterdam and this one. I barely use anything else. (Rotterdam is a bit more versatile than St. Arnual - you can play everything on this thing!) Otherwise you can check out Friesach by Piotr Grabowski which is one of THE best free sets out there. I'd highly recommend trying this one :-)

There is something about the sight and sound of a magnificent pipe organ which cuts through the noise and clutter of today's world of smartphones, apps, video games, sports and entertainment celebrities and the latest hits in pop music (not that there's anything wrong with pop music, per se - just that it has become nearly the ONLY genre of music a great many people know about and/or care to listen to today). In this 21st-Century World of ours, the church pipe organ has become a well-kept secret and is, by and large, nearly forgotten. It is, therefore, all the more remarkable that a talented student like yourself, Paul Frey, somehow managed to discover the beauty of this instrument and wanted to learn to play it. We are very fortunate that, just as traditional music, including that specifically composed for the organ, is rapidly disappearing forever beneath the waves of our modern society, technology has come to our rescue which can highly-accurately digitally-sample the sounds of the literally thousands of individual pipes contained within an organ. It is as if the people who founded "FORESTPIPES" suddenly realized, as biologists did before them, that it was urgent that they get out into the world while there was still the opportunity to document as many living species of animals and plants on Earth as they possibly could before they became extinct. Thus, it is in this same spirit that these irreplaceable organs' sounds are being documented, captured and preserved before they, too, disappear forever into the mists of time. Thank you, Paul, for the splendid way you have documented and illustrated the beautiful sounds of this organ in Saarbrücken. To think that you've been able to do all of this in the privacy of your own study space!

Depends strongy on what you use it for. For the free ones its definitely Friesach I think. Payed sets probably Rotterdam or Dudelange - I havent tested that one yet

Das stimmt! Die existiert im Originalinstrument nicht - die 32’ Bombarde wurde nachträglich digital hinzugefügt. Auch die Sub- und Superoktav-Koppeln sind nicht im Originalinstrument enthalten glaube ich!
