How many slabs of ribs and pork butts grill hold?

For St Louis cut spare ribs, I think 3 would be about as many as I’d want to squeeze in. Maybe more if using a rack though. As for the pork butts, I would say around 3 if they are of decent size.

I do not unfortunately you may want to check on Facebook. There is a large recteq group with close to 100,000 members. Of course the majority of them are fans of recteq, but some of them may be able to offer some advice. I’m sure some of them have owned those before or used them.

@@ScottieBMan It’s not double walled / insulated but it holds temp great even in cold weather. It’s held up wonderfully so far. I use it a lot and I love it! When the time comes to replace it, I’ll probably jump up one in size but this one has been cooking great.

had any issues with the drip pan warping as soon as the grill heats up? They've sent me 2 replacements and it still snaps into a deformed geometry when it heats up, and snaps back whenever it cools down. Yes, I have the heat deflector installed properly.

I love the size and the cast iron plate but I wish it had an upper rack. Kind of killing my thirst without the second rack. Is there an accessory for that by RecTeq?

I haven’t seen one for the 590 offered by Recteq. There are a few aftermarket things I’ve seen people mention but no idea how good of a solution they are.

Wondering how to clean the ash on this grill? Do you just use a shop vac or something like that? How often do you have to vacuum it out? Also how easy it is to swap out the pellets? Have to pull them out by hand or is there some type of door so you can empty them into a bucket all at once? Thanks for the information.

@@jamesgeorge6290 I clean mine occasionally with a shop vac. They say it’s good to leave some ash though for insulation. No trap door for pellets unfortunately. So you have to manually remove them.

No problems with flame outs whatsoever. No issues with temp swings either. When you first fire it up it will overshoot a bit but it settles down and rock steady from there. Thanks for watching brother!

It’s only right at 23” including the horns /handles. With those off it’s right at 20” at its widest. Should easily go through most common sized doors.

@@ericthomas4754 good question! I have not tried one, there may be a bit of overhead clearance issue on a giant turkey but I bet it would work. I did a quick search online and it seems a lot of people cook turkeys in the 590 so I bet it would work! I might try one this year! 😁
