Fun stuff Used to have a big Carrera set up as well . Banked turns wire mesh plaster hills we went a bit crazy with those led street lights you can find in many vcd varieties probably had about 45 or 50 including the airport strobe tower. Had the old analog one made 4 lanes driver spots for power I used an old school commercial fire alarm that charged 2 deep cycle lead acid marine batteries tons of power with zero surges. Spent about 2 months matching track pieces sanding trimming others so none of that track click sounds also made custom turns by sawing up various track pieces. Lots of lit buildings night racing was awesome. Have fun .

Great layout Anthony. I'm jealous of the space you have for that. Nice work.
@MrAramsey49794 жыл бұрын
Hey Jim...thanks for the kind words. I have a little secret regarding the space...my wife kicked me out of the lower level. My track had taken over the entire space on the carpet. My main straight was 40 feet long! My wife finally objected and I decided to transform my furnace room into a man cave. Worked out great! Thanks again.

Its been a long time since I have done Scalextric car racing. I have since migrated to sim racing in my older years now. After seeing this fantastic layout, I am so inclined to get back to this form of racing and invest on the Carrera slot racing system. You work is impeccable. Well put together. You should start doing GT racing tours on your track with commentaries to liven up the racing coverage with motion graphics too. That would stand out above other slot car racing channels.

Dare to dream for my layout after seeing your track setup! Quick question... Did you put any roadbed between the track and table(the sections that touch the table)? I think I have a similar mentality... as I get as much enjoyment if not more creating and maintaining the layout and cars as running them around the track!
@courage0243 Жыл бұрын
Beautiful work! I’m just getting into slot cars and gaining information. I’d like to go with Carrera track but I know it’s gonna be a task painting over every other white lane divider line. As detailed and accurate as their cars are it baffles my why they wouldn’t space out those lines to a more realistic spacing.

Hello Anthony, it's Stéphane, the Frenchman who contacted you for the complete route of your circuit. I'm coming back to you just to find out what piece of music serves as a sound illustration for your circuit? Love it Anthony. I like the realism mixed with fun. I enjoy LeMans and I’m picturing grandstands and garages. I know with layouts the fun thing is they are never done. It’s always add and tweak here and there. Will you be adding any buildings, garages or grandstands ?
