Truly a Lovely Apartment in Nelson! Would you mention how you got the apartment and is there any specific websites that we can check out?
@ProjectFrugal Жыл бұрын
I was born in Nelson - have it tattooed on my arm even and lived there until I was about 18. Cold in winter, hot in summer. Used to climb the 1st tree on the right when you enter Queens gardens from Hardy Street when I was a kid. Best of luck!

If I may offer a suggestion which just maybe put in even better standing with your landlord. With regards to that awesome kitchen's glass stove top. Next time you're out grocery shopping, pick up some baking soda, and at a $tore, an inexpensive (I won't mention the trade name) green&yellow scrubbing pad. With the baking soda, and gentle use, (trying a very small test area first!) with the scrubbing pad. Youll be able to return that glass stove top to a nearly new appearance! Or, wait until you're about to move out. Lovely apartment, next show the view?
@brittanymorgan09 Жыл бұрын
That is a great suggestion, I've actually been researching how to clean it properly and baking soda has come up many times! Yes, we lucked out on this place, the view isn't nice but we will be sharing the beach area that across the street as it's just lovely!

Hi from Nova Scotia, Brittany! I messaged with Donovan previously, guess that's why the algorithm had your feed in my notifications! What a perfect apartment for you both. You are used to high rent in Calgary so I guess it's not too much of a shock. What more do you really need? Low maintenance, good location? Check and check. I wish you a fun and fulfilling time while there! Cheers, Billy P.S. I have subscribed to both channels!
@brittanymorgan09 Жыл бұрын
Hello Billy, welcome!! I'm glad you found my channel, thank you for subscribing! It's a great little apartment for sure, we left Calgary before the rent got insane so it's a bit more here than we're used to but not too bad! Merry Christmas ☺

Lovely appartement! ❤ And it *will* get hot in Nelson over summer - mid 30s is my experience for how hot it gets, usually. Go to Kaiteriteri, but go to 'Little Kaiteriteri' the most beautiful beach, but not full of tourists. Also over the hill in the Tasman region I think the place is called Waipara - falls, and where the Abel Tasman walk comes out - just paradise ❤
@brittanymorgan09 Жыл бұрын
Lovely suggestions, thank you! Kaiteriteri is definitely on our list. I am looking forward to that heat honestly!! Great excuse to go jump in the water for a swim!

It might (barely) get to 30 degrees in an extreme summer, but it will never get to the mid 30s. Mid to high 20s is a normal summer high throughout most of the region (Marlborough. around Blenheim, can peak a little higher than that). Summer light hours are high during the summer though, so long days. During peak winter (i.e. July till late August) it will barely hit -1 on a typical clear night butstill get to between 14 & 18 degrees during fine winter days, so is generally pretty pleasant. Waipara is in North Canterbury (heart of the NC wine district), you possibly mean Wainui, as there are waterfalls there.

@@gordonspicer interesting! The building we are in is marketed as a "luxury rental" so I wonder if appliances were all included during construction. Yes! Donovan is in most of my vlogs and he has his own channel as well!

It reminds me of the rental i had in Switzerland, the appliances in particular. But that was 2850CHF a month, unfurnished, 12 years ago, and a family row house.
