Tour & Talk 2 - Honda Rubicon in Snow

Hondude Nation were hitting the powder for this Tour & Talk! Sort of haha. In this video we try and muscle our way through the deep snow with the Honda Rubicon. I'm going to be doing VLOG styled videos like this to answer commonly asked questions, give channel updates, and just have some fun. Update on the axle issue from the previous video - the axle has been delivered I just need to install it. Waiting to free up some room in the shop right now. Should have some more videos soon my dudes!

I love my Honda Rancher 420 4x4 and i have never driven it on snow due to livin way south Texas. Maybe one day i will take it up there and drive it on the snow.

What up Hondude!? A big shout out from Eastern Oregon! We're getting hammered with snow at the moment. Epic powder. We're supposed to get 22-42 inches total by Wednesday. Love your stuff man. I've got the exact same machine as you--except bone stock other than aluminum skid plates underneath. I'm going to tow thw kids up the sledding hill in a few and play around a little. Curious...I'm assuming you must be running in low range with diff lock enraged? Also, have you ever taken a little air out of the tire for better flotation? I haven't on the Honda but it works amazing on my old Jeep...just floats on the snow. Keep up the great work!

HP def helps in snow, had a brute force and a renegade, they would both man handle powder with the outlaws tires. They would both also break tho haha the Honda gets me home. Thanks for watching!

What size tire are you running? Did mudpuppy do gear reduction for you? And would you try a set of vampire EDL’s?

Running 29.5”, I don’t have a GR. Planning on doing one this year. I’ll just do it myself. For sure I would try them! Never hurts to try new tires.

That looks so fun I’d take the renegade out because we just had some snow but nope, older brother doesn’t know how to ride so he ended up wrecking it into a curb last year in the snow so the front left and back left rims are completely bent lol an I sure ain’t taking the banshee out haha

Awesome man, great machine you got. Significant improvements on the new machines would be ride comfort from the independent rear suspension, power steering ( especially if you haul wood with tracks), fuel injection, and the differential lock.

@@Shikamaru6900 oh I get what your saying, I didn't move the rad because I hunt so I need the front rack space, I also like using my front headlight, and I don't like the look of the rad relo's on Honda's. I just pulled my rad out for a full deep cleaning the other day.

You'll love it, I waited a year for my warranty to finish before I snorkeled it. They look so much better without the snorkel.

How long can you run the dif-lock for? Will it over heat or be fine

Not to sure. I've ran it for a whole day before with no problem. I had a broken rear axle so I just kept it in diff lock all day.

I ordered it with my machine when I bought it. Just the factory skid plate. And yes my old man runs the same tracks on his outlander. It’s amazing what they can go through with tracks.

I have a Honda 400 and when I am going through 8+ inches of snow the front end bounces do you know why and I live in the up so we get a lot of snow

Mine does the same thing until I get some speed built up. I think it's because the front end has gotten down to the ground but it doesn't have the bike moving at the speed of the tires yet, causes a hop motion. What do you think?

thats a rubicon deluxe pro its a honda, Cons underpowered slow less suspension travel and ground clearance than others in its class

weird. with auto? Mine is never in the right gear for snow. You go through snow up to your headlights with no issues? I'd have to see it to believe it my friend. What size of tire are you running? I know that because I have a larger tire it negatively affects the way my DCT operates. Add the snow in and it's a problem.

They make them, they come in fewer sizes tho. Just post on the facebook group called "Honda Foreman Club"

They make Gear Reductions tho, so its just like doing clutch work on a belt drive, but cheaper. I hear you tho for sure! Something about cracking that throttle on a belt drive in mud and having it roar is nice.
